The Rainbow Promise {The Ordinary Moments}

When I was younger, I remember every Monday night was Brownie night. I loved going. I remember doing fun things and I especially remember making my Brownie promise.

I think Rainbows, Brownies and even Girl Guides, give children and young adults so many learning skills. I remember my sister going to Guides and she managed so much in the short time she was there. The Duke of Edinburgh awards, hop, skipping {not literally of course!} over to Canada and making new friends from there guiding company, and so much more.

From the moment I had a girl, I was insistent that she would go to Brownies. Luckily for us there is a Rainbow unit too just down the road! I enrolled her straight away and she was accepted in after the Easter holidays. Its a good way to make new friends and learn new things. So far she loves it.

This week she made her Rainbow promise, and became a fully fledged Rainbow!

    This is a great moment to remember – I was in Brownies and Guides (and my parents were both Scout leaders) so I think it’s a really worthwhile movement to be a member of. The kids get so much out of it that they don’t get from school.

    Such a lovely post. I didn’t even know about Brownies, Guides, Rainbows etc when I was a child. It’s not something anyone in my family ever did but it’s something that I’m sure my two would love as they get older. What a milestone for you and your daughter! x
