Back Behind The Wheel…

This week I got back behind the wheel! It was a fairly risky operation. I needed to do it as its half term now and I couldn’t bear being stuck in all week. I walked Moo round to play school and then me and Thor went for a little drive. I was, putting it mildly, a little nervous to say the least! We still have the courtesy car as well so I was uneasy about where all the buttons were! The first milestone was getting the thing started! cue a telephone call to the husband…

how the hell do you turn this thing on?

Erm, you turn the key

I am.. and its not doing anything!!

Calm down will you, take a breath, sit back and turn the key, you need to calm down, stop stressing!

I am nervous, Just tell me how to start the car!

Turn the key!

You have said that already, I am turning the god damn key and its not working….. oh hold on its started….

what did you do?

I pressed the clutch down

I took an extremely slow drive to Tesco and drove back. It was all rather easy but still rather terrifying!  I probably pissed a few other people off but hey, first time back behind the wheel and all I didn’t really care! I am such a nervous driver now, and passenger, in time that will hopefully get better. The accident most definitely has knocked my confidence in driving, but I am so pleased I did it, finally!

Ahhh, I guess it’s important to get back on the horse, but that doesn’t make it easy. I get twitchy behind the wheel when I’ve just heard a story about someone crashing their car, so I think I’d find it really tough getting back in the saddle. But well done you, I’m sure it will get easier. X

Thanks! I was rather relieved when I was back to be honest. I did go out a 2nd time on my own, and it was slightly better, minus the rain and hail stones. I just want my car back now!
