I have not written a “what I’m watching” post for some time. There has been so much good TV on so far this autumn that I though I would share with you some of the ones I have been watching and enjoying. I reckon, most of the UK has watched at least half of these so do let me know what you think. Also I would love to have any recommendations of TV programmes you have enjoyed this Autumn.
Making a Murderer
I was hooked on season one of the Netflix programme that filmed Steven Avery being released from prison after being exonerated for a crime he didn’t commit. He then went on to file a suit against the Manitowoc County. Shortly after, however, Avery found himself behind bars again, this time accused of the murder of 25-year-old photographer Teresa Halbach.
The show delves into the court case and the handling of it.I think it shocked quite a few. Season two was put up on Netflix a few weeks ago and I am hooked. I am slowly watching it and slowly I am flabbergasted. Stevens new Lawyer is seen taking the original evidence apart, bit by bit and showing just how it it could of been turned around to frame Avery. Its shocking TV but addictive viewing.
This aired over 4 weeks on the BBC and it had mixed reviews. I’d actually really enjoyed the first episode. I liked the way it kept reverting to flash backs and it left me wanting more when it finished. I eagerly waited for episode two and again, I thought it was brilliant. It soon went downhill though throughout episode three and then the last one was just a bit, Meh. The acting and casting were brilliant, but there was just something about it that was a little disappointing.
I’d recommend it to others to watch. I think its something you need to make you own mind up on. I’ve spoken to quite a few people about it and have had mixed reviews, some saying it was great but others agreeing with me. It was a finny one. Let me know what you thought if you have watched it?
I have mentioned this quite a few times in my Little Love round ups. Its bloody amazing and currently one of the best things on TV in my eyes. I am watching it as it airs, but the BBC put the whole boxset up when the first episode aired. The casting for this program is hands down one of the best I have seen in a long long time. I love the relationship between the main cast Sandra Oh and Jodie Cormer. Its just magic.
We have the last episode to watch and I am so excited to see where it goes. I already know they are filming season two so I know its been a huge hit. I’ve managed to sway from any spoilers which is pretty good going considering everyone has been talking about it. Have you watched it? What have you thought?
The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair
I started this when it first aired quite a few months ago. It has been put on the back burner as I just have not had time to finish it. But I wanted to mention it because it actually has the potential to be really good. I just need to find the time to finish it! I think I am 3 episodes in, I may need to refresh with the last episode I watched though as its been so long! Let me know if you have watched it and if you recommend I carry on with it!
