my weekly favourites | week one

Its a new year, and a new name for one of my weekly posts. I started writing Sunday Favourites last year and I decided to change it up and call it weekly favourites instead. Sounds better and its a perfect round up of the week that has passed. Without too much waffling and dwelling, here are a few of my favourites this week.

There are always several weeks within the year that I always like to talk about routine. The past few weeks have been pretty full on and although we have had some really lovely lazy days, towards the end of the holidays I crave routine. It came bit late this week. Gracie and Henry didn’t go back to school till Thursday. It was nice to have a bit of routine back before the mayhem of the start of the term. Its amazing how quickly you snap back into it when you have had a break.

If you read my 2019 Goals post you may have seen that I have will be signing up for the London Shine Walk. Its something I have wanted to do for sometime. 2019 is the year I am throwing myself into it. This week I started walking with a friend, who will also be joining me for the Shine. We have made a plan of days we will go out and I am really looking forward to getting my fitness levels up and training. Friday we eased ourselves in gently with a 4 mile walk before work.

With Christmas out the way January is the perfect time to declutter. In with the new and out with the old. We {actually James} sorted Gracie’s room out, removed all the things she didn’t play with anymore and made it in to a really lovely space for her. She requested to move the furniture around and now the space is lovely and she has more room to dance around {as you do}

We both sorted Henry’s room. Again we put away all the toys he no longer plays with and sorted all his cupboards out. He has the box room and removing things he no longer plays with has opened it up. Feels and looks just that little bit bigger. Its nice to have a sort out after Christmas. The garage is now overflowing with old toys that I cannot bear to get rid of.

Kitchen Purchases

We are determined to get the kitchen finished this month. Its been a long process and I can finally see the light at the end of a very long tunnel. I ordered some lovely new bits we were in need off. The finishing touches to tie it all together. I am so excited to finally have a finished product. More excited about hosting dinners now we have a dining table to sit 6!

    Getting back into the swing of routine after the school holidays is always a favourite of mine. A wonderful new week to you!

    Sounds like a fabulous week to me. I may have a weird urge to Marie Kondo my drawers and wardrobes – I’m trying to suppress it though. Bet you can’t wait to get your kitchen done. It’ll be all the better though having done it yourselves. Hope you’ve had a good week x
