Princess Poppy {What We’re Reading}

Moo is fortunate to have a library at her school {I am not sure if this is a common thing!} Every Friday she gets to pick her own book for the week to take home. Its scanned out and its left in her possession.

I often read them too her, some books are 50 pages long and others are just simple picture books. This week she bought home Princess Poppy. The illustrations on the front looked perfect and my kind of book. {Its nice to always be surprised by a book}

So with one pox ridden child tucked up in bed and the other hanging over the top bunk I nestled down to read it.

Its about a girl called poppy who woke on her birthday and no-body seems to remember. She hunts down all her friends/neighbours/shop owners to find out that not one single person has remembered. They are all too busy.

Obviously they have not forgot, they are hiding something and its not till Poppy finds her best friends does she find out what they have all been up too. They all manage to congregate together and throw Poppy a lovely surprise birthday party.

I actually love this book, it reads so well and the illustrations are beautiful. We still have it for another few days so its definitely one thats going to bed read again.

If like me you have been reading and want to share then please pop by  and see the lovely Carrie (Space for Butterflies) and see what she has been reading and link up there too!

    Oh that looks just lovely – such gorgeous illustrations! We had a school library at primary school and I loved it; all those gorgeous new stories to explore!
