Mug Cake

I am always looking for different kinds of ways to spice up a dessert for after dinner. There are a few things in life I just cannot live without and one of those things is of course Nutella..

Whether it be on toast, on a cracker, in a cake or just of the spoon.

This week I tried something new, it seems to be doing the rounds on Pinterest and it claimed to be quick and easy. Luckily I stock a hell of a lot of Nutella so this was a perfect recipe for dessert.

It was done in 3 easy steps too!

  • 4 tablespoons self-rising flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons Nutella
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large coffee mug.
  2. Whisk well with a fork until smooth.
  3. Microwave on high for 1½– 3 minutes. {Time depends on microwave; mine took 2½ minutes}

If you want to you could put clotted cream or whipped cream on top, as I am not a fan of cream I went without.

I honestly thought, that it would be a liquid mess when I took it out of the microwave but surprisingly it had risen to triple its size! {I should of used a bigger mug!!}

    That looks delicious. I could use that next to my cup of coffee right about now. hahaha Although would have to be minus the nutella as Buba is deadly allergic to nuts so they are not allowed in this house. Sounds delicious. Something I could even make. I am no chef. hahaha Love great simple recipes. Thanks so much for sharing on Share With Me. Love your post each week. Man you now have made me hungry. hahaha Off to see what I can put in my mug that’s this yummy! lol #sharewithme

    My eldest is obsessed with Nutella and I don’t let her have it often… I may let her try this though, looks like my kind of baking!
