My Little Swimming Bug {The Ordinary Moments}

We have only just got Moo into swimming lesson. Every time I wanted to get her into swimming, it just was not the right time, I mean it costs a lot of money and its something that was always pushed to the side.

We finally booked her in and its the best after school activity she does. She has been going roughly six weeks and so far she is exceeding herself. She was so worried at first and struggled with a few things, but she has really tried and persisted with it. Last week she received her first certificate and its given her that push to try harder as her hard work is being recognised.

Every Monday we travel the 20 minute journey, talking about what she is going to achieve in that weeks lesson. We giggle and laugh together before I get stressed with traffic! Living near the M25, on top of the dartford bridge and a very busy shopping centre has its negatives! But we get there and normally we have ten minutes to spare where we giggle some more and take selfies!

On her return, we high five and I tell her how proud I am of her and then we go home.

Although I am not spending much time with her on a Monday evening, I love our time together. {in the car, in the changing room and then the race back home to eat dinner!} I don’t take H with me most times which makes it so much easier, but when I do he is supporting his big sister just as much as I am, cheering along when she is solo swimming and giving her the wave when she is done!

She has come so far in a matter of weeks and although we are now having a little set back whilst she has her operation, I am hoping she will jump straight back into it once she has recovered!

    How lovely 🙂 I love watching swimming lessons too – my daughter is 5 and has been going since 3.5 – she really enjoys it and I am so proud of her. Lovely post xx

    Oh bless her sounds like she is doing really well. We started Mads on them and then sort of ran out of the habit as we ended up being so busy over Summer we kept missing them, we ended up not renewing at the start of the new term. We should start again as it is so good and important for them. x

    Yay well done kid! We have swam with Water Babies since G was 13 weeks old. So pleased we did as at 3 he can dive. Amazing life lessons and gives me so much comfort knowing he’s safe in the water x
