FRIEND REQUEST, THE GREASTEST SHOWMAN, THE END OF THE HOLIDAYS

FRIEND REQUEST, THE GREASTEST SHOWMAN, THE END OF THE HOLIDAYS

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and that’s a Little Love round-up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

This week has literally flown by. Most likely because we have been rather busy. We have not really done anything out of the ordinary, just visiting friends, having family over and dog walks. Its been a lovely round-off to the holidays.

Without too much waffling, here are the little things I have been loving.

I finished Good Me, Bad Me and I really enjoyed it. There was a huge twist at the end and I did not see it coming. Definitely recommend it for anyone who loves a psychological thriller. I quickly started a new book which was on my pile. Friend Request by Laura Marshall. Thanks to a few slower paced days this week, I ahve taken full advantage of my blanket and a good read.

I am so so behind with the times with this one, but I finally got to the cinema with G and watched The Greatest Showman. If you have not watched it and can get to a cinema that is still showing it, then its a must. It was so so good. I was a bit dubious about all the hype but I am so glad I went and booked tickets. G loved it and as soon as we left she asked to watch it again. Secretly I wanted to as well. Truly a brilliant film. Cant wait for the release of the DVD.

As soon as I got home from the cinema trip I downloaded the soundtrack. I have been listening to it non-stop all week. The music is just so so good. I have a few favourites.  This Is Me, From Now On, The Greatest Show, Never Enough, in fact, every song is my favourite! I am sure I will be listening to this album for a long time to come.

Last week I was banging on about how nice the weather was. This week, its been miserable as sin. Its been pretty grim. So the sandals went back in the wardrobe and the boots made a reappearance, again.

Not much to shout about. I have been making a wider selection of meals this week now I have my saucepans for my hob. I had to order new pans because my old ones were not compatible with the new induction hob. This week I have made full use out of them. Eating vegetables again, now I can actually boil a pan, also mash, I have missed good hearty food! One thing I really missed was fried egg, so it was only natural to cook it as soon as my pans arrived!

Cant quite believe the Easter holidays are coming to an end. I am actually looking forward to having a routine again. Its been so nice to lounge around and not have to be out the door by 8am, but I work so much better with a routine. Anyone else?

Whatever your up too, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

BEAST FROM THE EAST, SNOW DAYS, KEEPING WARM

BEAST FROM THE EAST, SNOW DAYS, KEEPING WARM

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and that’s a Little Love round-up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

This week has been a weird week. We started off with a school closure due to no heating. We were expecting to be hit with terrible weather on Tuesday, but we were literally all shocked when the predicted snow fall failed to show! So whilst everyone else had snow days our school was open. Wednesday the Beast From The East hit us and we did finally get that snow day! Thursday they were back at school and ended up finishing early, and as I type this I am unsure as to whether the school will be open tomorrow {today}. It has most definitely been a week of freezing temperatures and bitter winds. I am hoping to stay indoors at the weekend as I really do not want to brace these awful conditions! How has it bee where you are? Have you suffered with the effects form this beast?

Without too much waffling, here are the little things I have been loving.

I am still engrossed in Eleanor Elephant is completely fine. I am really taking my time because I don’t want to rush it. Its such a wonderful book and I am still very much enthralled with the life of Eleanor. I am half way through it and have been reading it before bed to keep up with my daily reading.

Not much this week. I’ve downloaded all episodes of Save Me {SKY ATALNTIC} so I’m really looking forward to watching those. I love Lennie James {Line of Duty and The walking Dead} and obviously Suranne Jones!

I did watch this really bizarre programme called Bring Me Back To Life on 4od. It was a really strange set up, filmed as a diary for when the person woke up. Heres a quick summery,

Cutting Edge documentary telling the story of 22-year-old father Taylor Britton, who broke his neck in a car accident, as he fights for his life in intensive care. Damage to his spinal cord suggests he may be paralysed from the neck down, but no one yet knows the full extent of his injuries. As doctors have decided to put Taylor into a coma so that a machine can support his breathing, this documentary sets out to record Taylor’s medical journey, as well as the love and support of his family and friends as they visit him in hospital.

I felt for the guy and was willing him to wake up, but I was so cross at the end, that someone could be that stupid to put their life in danger like he did. You need to watch it!

Loving this song. Its not often I hear much from the radio anymore, but this has been playing a lot on the school run. I find it a bit bizarre that I have not heard it before, I mean it was released over a year ago! Seriously need to listen to the radio more!! I have found myself singing to for the rest of the day. Its quite a catchy song.

I did to wear the appropriate foot wear in the snow! I didn’t think it was actually as bad so popped on my ankle boots and may of skidded all over the place like bambi on ice. Not the best idea! I did learn though and when I went to pick G and H up I wore wellies! They still didn’t have enough grit though!

G and H wrapped up warm to play in the garden this week too. We literally got ready for school and bundled ourselves in the car, only to receive a message to say the school was closed! So out they went straight away to enjoy the freshly fallen snow!

On our snow day, I decided to make a cake to fill some time. I didn’t get any pictures but it was a simple sponge cake, with strawberries and chocolate filling with chocolate icing. G decorated it with sprinkles. I am yet to have any, but Mr B and both G and H polished quite a helping off!

I also made the trip to minor injuries! Luckily G and H school is opposite a hospital so yesterday I took H as he had a unfortunate incident with a door. I thought he may of broken his finger as it swelled up pretty badly and bruised instantly. Because he did it on Wednesday, and the weather was horrendous I made the decision to strap it up and take him the next day. {I did seek medical advice with this!} Anyway, school finished early yesterday so I quickly nipped over before heading home. It was really quite and we were in and out within 5 minutes! Luckily no broken bones, just very bruised and sore!

We have a busy weekend. Tomorrow I am visiting my mum and her husband and then Sunday we are visiting friends. Mr B is going to start the kitchen whilst we are out. I guessed he would get more done if we were not under his feet!

Whatever your up too, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

THEN SHE WAS GONE, HIGHER LOVE, PINK BALL | LITTLE LOVES

THEN SHE WAS GONE, HIGHER LOVE, PINK BALL | LITTLE LOVES

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and that’s a Little Love round-up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

Its been such a weird week. I’ve not been sleeping too well. I have had a few restless nights which has resulted in me going to bed quite early some evenings. Being honest I really hate it when I have an unsettled sleep as it takes me ages to recover from it! Both G and H are back to full health and returned to school this week. I have been taking it easy, and have been enjoying the brisk cold walks with the pooch!

Without too much waffling, here are the little things I have been loving.

I picked up a book this week. My friend gave me it to read and I have enjoyed it so much I have struggled to put it down. Then She Was Gone is a real page turner. I have really been enjoying reading and I am really looking froward to how it all pans out. Here is a little blurb on what its about..

Ellie Mack was the perfect daughter, at fifteen, she was the youngest of three. She was beloved by her parents, friends, and teachers. Ellie and her boyfriend made a teenaged golden couple. She was days away from an idyllic post-exams summer vacation, with her whole life ahead of her.

And then she was gone.

Now, her mother Laurel Mack is trying to put her life back together. It’s been ten years since her daughter disappeared, seven years since her marriage ended, and only months since the last clue in Ellie’s case was unearthed.

So when she meets an unexpectedly charming man in a café, no one is more surprised than Laurel at how quickly their flirtation develops into something deeper. Before she knows it, she’s meeting Floyd’s daughters—and his youngest, Poppy, takes Laurel’s breath away.

Because looking at Poppy is like looking at Ellie. And now, the unanswered questions she’s tried so hard to put to rest begin to haunt Laurel anew. Where did Ellie go? Did she really run away from home, as the police have long suspected, or was there a more sinister reason for her disappearance? Who is Floyd, really? And why does his daughter remind Laurel so viscerally of her own missing girl?

After my confession last week about Luther, it took me a good while to actually start back up with it. I wasn’t scared, it just freaked me out. The second episode of season two wasn’t much better. I think when children are involved in any kind of murder, thriller programme its a bit too close for home. Sounds silly but my brain works in mysterious ways!

I got an opportunity this week to go into school and Watch G and H in class. I always enjoy these little sessions the school puts on. Its a real eye opener and I learned a thing or too as well! G had a maths lesson and she was so excited I was able to help. My maths is shockingly bad, so bad, some of the lesson went straight over my head! H was English, which was much better for me!

I absolutely love this version of Higher Love. Such a beautiful cover. Ive been having it on repeat quite a lot this week.

I stupidly wore my Sollilas sandals  this week. You know when you look outside and it looks warmer that kit actually is? Yeah I did that. It was actually really mild doing the morning  school run so I felt rather chuffed but come 3.15 my feet were like ice! I am really fed up with wearing boots constantly so wanted a change. I can confirm I took them off and put them to the back of the wardrobe. Roll on Spring!

Mr B and I made a really big decision this week. We have been toying with the idea of getting a new kitchen for a while. Around this time of year, we start putting money into making the garden look nice, but the dog has had her way with it and we both agreed we didn’t want to spend money out on it again at the moment. Thats when we started talking about the kitchen. Its currently usable, and works well but its dated and old. It really isn’t our taste and its the last room to be done. So we walked out of the showroom with plans and a delivery date! I am so excited to be getting the kitchen we want. Its going to look lovely and airy which will be amazing as the kitchen is so dark at the moment.

H had quite a bit of homework this term. He is learning all about pirates so the theme followed onto the homework. H decided he wanted to make a sword and a treasure map. He did so well. Its always hard to get him to sit down and do it but he was really enthusiastic about doing it this term. I forgot to take photos of his work, but I was really impressed! He tried so hard.

Last weekend I went to a charity event. One of my school mum friends has been raising money for Breast Cancer Now. Sadly her best friend passed away from this god awful disease. Last year she ran the London Marathon and this year she out on a wonderful event called The Pink Ball. So much money was raised on the night. its so bloody important to #coppafeel Touch – Look – Check it doesn’t take long. You can do it while your in the bath, watching tv, laying in bed. It’s so important to be boob savvy. I know I check all the time, I’m always bloody checking! The event raised over seven and a half thousands pounds. So proud to be apart of that.

What ever your up too, i hope you have a wonderful weekend!
