WILDE LIKE ME, LONDON TOWN, PUPPY PAMPERING | LITTLE LOVES 33/52

Its S A T U R D A Y which only means one thing and thats a LittleLove round up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat. { a day late for me as my week has been pretty full on!}

We have made the most of our last full week of the summer holidays. I cannot believe we are at the end and next Tuesday we are back in the routine of pack lunch making, school runs and after school clubs. The past few weeks have flown by. We have had a wonderful six weeks off and I think both G and H are ready to head straight back into the new academic year! I am looking forward t getting back into my routine as six weeks is a long time to be out of it!

Without too much waffling here is this weeks #LittleLove

I’ve given up on The Escape for now. I was really enjoying it, but I wanted a light hearted read which was easy and not too in depth. I went to Costco this week and picked about Louise Pentland’s first novel, Wilde Like Me. Its shaping up to be a really good read and so far I am really enjoying it. I will definitely be going back to re-read The Escape.

I’m not sure if you have read my post this week. I wouldn’t normally use this section as a link drop, but I think its really important. The reason I wrote about it is because I read an article and it made me so cross and and so angry I decided to put my story out there. I didn’t know what Skin Cancer looked like and I decided to finally show you, my readers what my melanoma looked like. I am really quite self conscious about the scar, so this was a pretty out there thing for me to do, but do you know what skin cancer looks like?

I’ll be honest I wasn’t going to, but I fell right into the British Bake Off hype. I was dead against boycotting, but I just couldn’t resist and I am so glad I did tune in. I’ve got to say, its exactly the same which is great as I was worried it would have had a massive over haul. I am not sure about the presenters, but over the course of the next few weeks I am sure I will get used to that! Did you watch it? What did you think?

I have been watching quite a few Vlogs this week. I caught up with Lucy over at Dear Beautiful. She did two videos which involved her children. An Interview With.. I loved this and both were really sweet. I am sharing the video where she interviewed her son and I literally melted when he was asked what do you like most about mummy? His reply is just wonderful and made me choke up a little. I won’t give it away, you will have to watch it to find out!

Firstly this week, I heard that our cat had managed to embed a grass dart in her eye! Mr B went to the garage the other morning and our neighbour told us she had a weeping eye. We called up the vet immediately as we were worried she had been in a fight and when we saw her, she couldn’t open her eye. It was very weepy and not very nice looking. Mr B took her in and he was not expecting the vet to say she had something in it, with that she then pulled it out from under her eyelid! Luckily she has had no damage to her eye and she is on the road to recovery! Pets! ever since we got Fleur we have never visited the vet so often!

Secondly last night we heard the biggest thunder storm of the summer so far. It was pretty loud. H got a tad scared so he ended up in bed with me and Mr B was booted out to H’s bed. I must admit, the sky literally lit up. It was pretty spectacular. As H was in our bed, I also heard him fall out! I was a bit dazed and so was he to be fair, he said he hurt his back as he went down!

Nothing again to really shout about here. Its been really warm this week so I have been making the most of dresses, sandals, shorts and anything else summery I can get away with wearing before its all packed away!

We made the trip up to London this week. Its been planned for ages and its been something we have all been looking forward to. We visited the southbank which is currently hosting a Lego exhibition called The Art Of The Brick: DC Superheros. It was fantastic and have life like models of DC heroes made out of Lego. Its open till the 10th September so if you can get there before it closes then I really recommend going if you’re a Lego fan! London is such a beautiful city and one I don’t visit enough. I literally live so close to it too. A 30 minute train ride takes me to the centre. There is a certain vibe about the city that

Fleur went for her first puppy pamper session today. She smells amazing. She was in desperate need of a trim round her face and a feet tidy up. I was a bit worried they would cut way too much off, but she looks adorable and we can now see her eyes! She is definitely a pampered pooch! Dropping her off was not great, it was like dropping a child at nursery and although she didn’t look back, Mr B and I were a little sad to let her go! She looked like a huge cuddly teddy bear when we went to pick her up!

What ever your up to, have a wonderful weekend!

TRUST ME, MRS MELDRUM, DINNER FAILS | LITTLE LOVE 30/52

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and thats a LittleLove round up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat. Its slightly different this week {and for the next few} as Morgana is taking a well earned break. I have decided to continue with the posts as I really enjoy writing them up and reflecting on my week. Morgana will be back on the 25th August if you want to link back up with her.

We have had a much better week this week. We have all managed to pass the strange bug that fell on us the week before and we have had a really lovely week. G and H had a mammoth playdate on Wednesday which resulted in me having 4 children for 8 hours! It was really not that bad, and it flew by. I didn’t hear much from them all day which was a bonus! We have not been out and about much as the weather has been so poor! When it hasn’t been raining we have popped out and walked the dog! Its amazing how much closer a pup brings you together, its been lovely spending so much time together and finding new places to go.

Without too much waffling here is this weeks #LittleLove

I’ve not read too much more of my book this week. I have had a break from it as I have been so tired of an evening. However I did managed to have a flick through a few magazines this week. Nothing really to shout about!

I also read that Carpool Karaoke has now moved over to  Music, which I am really cross about. I’m a big fan of James Corden and I think he has really shot himself in the foot with this move. I am all for  BUT I don’t have a streaming account so I will no longer be able to watch these videos!

Firstly I watched Jodie Whittaker in the new BBC drama Trust Me. I was hooked from the get go and I really recommend anyone to watch it. Having lost her job for whistle-blowing, a skilled, hardworking nurse assumes her best friend’s identity as a senior doctor to start a new life in Edinburgh. Its very good and I cannot wait till next weeks episode!

last night I caught the Trailer for the new Netflix Original programme for The Crown. I loved this series and I cannot wait for season 2 to start. The trailer has left me wanting more! I have a particularly long wait as its not hitting our screens until December!

And lastly, can we just take a moment for this video. Mrs Meldrum {aka Rebecca} has been in hospital this week to have her 3rd baby. I have been a avid follower of this pregnancy and I was so upset when I found out about all her complications. I, like everyone else was patiently waiting for updates and when she posted that her beautiful little girl had arrived I was so happy. Its made my week. This video is just adorable and I have to share it. She live posted her hospital stay, up till her section and this was the birth video. Truly wonderful!

I am still very much listening to Ed Sheeran’s album + I am loving it and I thank god for Spotify so I can stream it when I am at home! Who buys albums nowadays, when you have services like this? Its actually a shame as one of my favourite things to do when I was younger was to go to Woolworths and purchase the latest number one album!

Also on Spotify I am listening to a covers playlist. I love cover version of songs. Obviously not as good as the originals but i like to hear a different feel to a song I know and love.

I have had to put my Chelsea Boots on this week. It been quite a funny week. Some days have been glorious and other days have just been awful. We had a day with non-stop rain which resulted in some local flooding areas. So much fell I thought my garden would turn to a swamp. I really wish the weather would make its mind up, I am starting to think summer is over with! I have so much washing I need to get on top of and nowhere to hang it! The pup, likes a sock or two so I have to wait till its sunny so I can hang it on the line!

Shamefully I may of worn my dressing gown a few nights this week too! How depressing, August and I am wearing a thick fluffy gown! Its been a tad chilly about 8ish so I have wrapped myself up to stay warm.

Nothing to shout about here. I made a disastrous Chilli-Con-Carnie on Tuesday. I’m a cheat and used a packet mix and Mr B oh-so-kindly said that it was bland! I wouldn’t have known as I don’t eat chilli, but my version tasted delicious! Next time I will try and make it from scratch. I could tell by Mr B’s face he was not enjoying it!

We are well into the six weeks and I have not started uniform shopping at all. I’ve started to panic slightly. The school shop always gets so busy. When I say busy I mean queues out the door busy! I also hate shoe shopping with a passion. I’ve seen on Facebook quite a few people have already bought theirs and I feel so unorganised! I hate having to book up for a slot so I end up getting them measured and then ordering online! So much easier! G is obsessed with Smiggle and wants EVERYTHING to be smuggle related, that alone costs more than the uniform! I have had to compromise with her on some bits!  Have you started the back to school shop yet?

On another note:

I have started a weekly Mini-Series called For The Love Of, I know a few people have read it and said they like the idea of it being a linky!  If you would like to share with me what you have been enjoying, next weeks topic is TV, just pick three Programmes your loving this month and write a brief description about it. I am always looking for new shows to watch, so if you want to join in you can! The topics change weekly from Vlogs, Blogs, Instagram and TV.. If its your thing I would love to see you link up!

What ever your up to, have a wonderful weekend!

START OF THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS,IN THE DARK, NOSE PIERCINGS | LITTLE LOVE 27/52

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and thats a LittleLove round up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

School is officially out for the summer and I could not be happier! Today we are on full on summer holiday mode. G is off to a sleepover to celebrate and I am going to just have a chilled day with H. I have been on countdown to this day since the start of term and now its here! It was a sad day yesterday finishing school. This school year has flown by!!

Without too much waffling here is this weeks #LittleLove

Again, nothing really to shout about. Ive been reading my book {still! – Im a very slow reader at the moment} I also read goodbye newsletters from the school for the end of term. Something strange about the end of the school year, I always get teary and emotional. I am so going to miss both G and H’s teachers next year. Both have been fantastic and I just wish I could of had them again for another year.

I have watched quite a bit this week. The two programmes that stand out are BBC1’s In The Dark. It consists of two separate two-part stories centring around detective Helen Weeks. In the first two-parter, Helen finds out that she is pregnant and becomes involved in a case in which the husband of her childhood best friend is accused of kidnapping two young girls. In the second two-parter, a heavily pregnant Helen is pulled into the dark side of urban Manchester as she deals with an unexpected tragedy. The first two episodes were really good, I saw a sneak peek of the 3rd and I am in two minds as to whether it will work. I enjoyed the storyline of the first two and I have a strange feeling the following two episodes are about something completely different. We will see.

Secondly I watched the channel 5 documentary on Sarah Payne. Obviously it was hard viewing. I remember her abduction so well. It was the first abduction {other than James Bulgar} I was fully aware of. It was such an awful chain of events and such an extremely awful outcome. Cannot believe it was 17 years ago.

I have heard this song on the radio a few times now and Its one I always take time to listen to the words. Its such a lovely song and Ed can really do no wrong in my eyes when it comes to song writing. It makes me a little teary when listening.

Those that follow me on Instagram will know that I have been wearing a nose stud! Yep, I finally bit the bullet and went and gone my nose pierced. I have wanted to have it done for years. In fact I wanted it done when I was 16 but my mum point blank refused and said no. So typically I rebelled and when I was 18 I went one step further and got my belly button pierced as, my thinking at the time, she would not have been able to see it! She did and she went mad. On Monday I called her and I told her what I had done, thinking she would blow her top, yes I know Im 34 and still worry what my mum thinks! She was fine. She is yet to see it in the flesh though! I love it and I am so glad I took the plunge and got it done. If you want to know if it hurt, well yes it did, but, my pain threshold is zero to none!

Nothing to shout about this week {again}. G and H made some lovely magnets to give to their teachers as a thank you. They drew a flower and signed it. I popped them into a clear fridge magnet case and voila. Two easy peasy teachers gifts to accompany a bottle of plonk.
