AGE APPROPRIATE CHORES FOR YOUR CHILDREN

AGE APPROPRIATE CHORES FOR YOUR CHILDREN

Assigning chores for your children to do is very important and it will serve them well later in life. There are two main reasons why parents should assign chores to their kids- one is to prepare them for life, for when they grow up and […]

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS, THE SINNER, LITTLE MIX | LITTLE LOVES 45/52

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and thats a LittleLove round up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

We are officially on countdown to Christmas! We are now in December so I am in full Christmas mode! I am so excited for Christmas this year and I cannot wait for the 25th! Also anyone else think this year has flown by?!

My unexpected break has carried on throughout this week. I was planning to schedule a few posts this week but I got carried away with life in general and ended up getting to Thursday evening and realising I have not managed to do anything blog wise I wanted! I am hoping next week will be a bit better!

Without too much waffling here is this weeks #LittleLove

Shamefully nothing… Can we skip this bit? Again, I have been pretty poor at reading this week! I did read a chip shop menu, does that count?!?

Right, Morgana mentioned a programme on Netflix last week and I have managed to binge watch it and completed the 8 episode series in 3 days. It was so so good and would highly recommend it. The Sinner stars Jessica Biel who is just fantastic as lead and it has you gripped from the start. Young mother Cora Tannetti is overcome by an inexplicable fit of rage that leads her to commit a startling — and very public — act of violence, with no explanation as to why she did it. When Detective Harry Ambrose begins his investigation and grows obsessed with uncovering Cora’s hidden motive, the two work together to try to get deep into her psyche to learn about the violent secrets that are hidden in her past.  It leaves every episode on a cliff hanger so it has you wanting more which means you end up watching more and thats where the binge bit comes in. You must watch it!

Of the back of the Royal engagement announcement this week I decided to see what all the Megan Markle fuss was all about and start Suits. I am only 4 episodes in, but already really enjoying it. Its typical american TV, which I am a sucker for. Have you watched it?

I’m so excited that there is another royal wedding happening next year. I’ve really taken an interest in the monarchy since William and Kate. I absolutely love them and it makes me so happy that Harry is finally going to wed. Can’t wait to see the love story pan out! Anyone else as excited as I am?

I have also been listening to Little Mix thanks to G. She is a avid fan and is always asking me to turn up the music when they come on the Radio. Their new song is definitely a grower. I wasn’t too sure but the more I listen to it the more I am loving it.. Thanks to G of course as its all she listens too at the moment!

The full hog, winter coats, hats and gloves. Someone said I resembled an eskimo in the playground yesterday because I was so wrapped up. I actually didn’t t care if I did look like an eskimo because I was actually rather toasty. It was so so cold and waiting in the playground in the freezing weather is not what I call fun, so what better way than to kit yourself out in a huge coat, hat, fluffy hood and gloves!

I made a lasagne this week. Its been ages since I made one. My mum and her husband were round for dinner so I though I would serve one up. It actually came out really well. Im a bit hit and miss with lasagnes, they either come out really sloppy or look like something from a school dinner. But I managed to make a damn good lasagne! No photos sorry!

I have also been making loads of plans for the schools christmas bazaar. Its being held next week and as chair of the PTA I always feel a lot pf pressure when it comes to big events! We have everything sorted now {just need to finish up a few loose ends!} and hopefully it will all go ahead without any hiccups! Im actually looking forward to breathing a sigh of relief when its over!

Last week, I was feeling pretty low. I made a comment about it in my last Little Loves post and I just want to say, thank-you to all those that commented such lovely comments. I’m feeling much better this week and a lot brighter. Sometimes life is hard.

What ever your up to, have a wonderful weekend!

PLANT PAL | REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY!

PLANT PAL | REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY!

I love having plants around the house, but I tend to fail at keeping them alive. I buy them with all the intentions of keeping them well watered but I let myself and the plant down by forgetting too water them regularly. I’d been asked to review a Plant Pal a few weeks ago and I literally jumped at the chance. Mainly because I really like to have fresh plants in the house and I love to see them burst with colour and grow. Also it makes me rather proud that I managed to keep it alive! The Plant Pal is ideal for those like me that tend to forget about the all important ingredient to keeping a plant alive! Water!

Plantpal is an award winning and patent pending self watering system that allows plants to regulate the release of water according their needs. Plantpal can be used all year round and is especially useful when you are away on holiday. The watering globe protects houseplants from over watering by allowing plants to take exactly what they want when they need it. Here are a few helpful tips about Plant Pal

  • Plants water and feed themselves on demand
  • Prevents over or under watering
  • Adds Value to gift plants
  • Encourages healthy plant growth
  • Waters plants while away on holiday
  • Refill once every 2 weeks

I have loved using my Plant Pal, I received 3, which I managed to put in plants around my home. I’ve filled them all with water once so far and I am suprised at how little water the plants need! I can either over water or never water so having these are really handy. They come in really vibrant colours and are really easy to use.

The instructions are that you Dip the end of the globe in water for a few seconds. If you don’t leave it under a stream of water for long enough then the water will release from the globe over a few hours, so run it or even leave it in a cup of water for at least 5-10 seconds. The first time I put the Plant Pal into my plant the water leaked out over 12 hours. So I left the dip stick in water for at least 10 seconds. Ive have not had to refill in over 2 weeks! You then fill the globe fully with water, create a hole in the soil and insert it fully into the plant. Easy as that!

You can use Plantpal watering globes in small plant pots starting from 18 cm. The Mini Plantpal watering globe has a capacity of 250ml and will water up to 2 weeks. For larger plants, the large Plantpal watering globe has a capacity of 380ml.

Its definitely something I will use all the time. I cant wait to see my plants bloom now I have a continuous supply of water to it! I just need to remember to add more water to the globe when it runs out!

If you fancy getting your hands on a Plant Pal, then your in luck, as I am running a completion for you to win one! You can enter below! Good Luck

THESE TWO | OCTOBER

THESE TWO | OCTOBER

Every month I have decided to pop up a post all about my two. It only seems fitting considering this is a parenting blog. It’s rare that I blog about G and H specifically. I blog about how hard I find parenting and the struggles that come along with it, but not individually on how they are doing. I used to do updates every few months on how each were doing but I’ve decided to do it slightly different with how I go about the blog post. Monthly posts I feel will work better, and it’s a prompt for me to take more photos. Which is what I am lacking lately!

This month has flown by, it only feels like yesterday I was popping up a post about them from September! I really wish time would slow down, just so I could get a grip on whats happening and cherish those moments more. Its been a full on month.

I have to admit, some parts have been really hard. G has had nothing but trouble at school this month and we have had a few meltdowns and I’ve really struggled to process what she has been telling me. Its all been resolved but its bought quite a few tears with it. Sometimes I wish I could put both G and H in a bubble and keep them from harms way.

We are back at swimming lessons and G has improved so much. She really is doing so well and she makes me so proud. She has mastered most strokes and she has really been enjoying it. All I can ask is she attends and has fun. At the moment that’s what is happening, so it makes me a happy mummy. H has improved so much too. He managed to swim a whole width without arm bands and any kind of help. He, as was I was so impressed!

Last month I spoke about sibling rivalry and how hard I was finding it. This month it has become so much better. With a ban on technical devices in place I have seen a massive change in both G and H’s behaviour. Its amazing what a break from any kind of device does to your child. Its definitely something that has been welcomed in our house!

H has had a good month at school. He is always learning new things and is forever asking questions about things he has covered in school. He has moved up two book levels since last month, which is phenomenal. His writing is still something we need to improve on, but he is doing well and thats all I can ask of him. He is loving school and spending time with his friends.

This month has been such a wonderful month. I have really enjoyed watching both G and H grow. Its lovely to see and something I will always cherish.
