sunday favourites | eight

Hello Sunday, I’m back with another weekly favourites of things I have been enjoying. I’m going to share 5 things that have stood out as being a favourite. Feel free to join in as well and tweet me your posts, I would love too read about what you have been enjoying this week.

One || Mum Uniform. I am no fashionista, I literally wear the same type of clothes all year round. I am not overly adventurous when it comes to trying new items. My wardrobe stable is Jeans and some sort of top/jumper/shirt with my ever trusty Solillas sandals. I literally wear them till my toes are going to fall off and I will then switch to boots, willing the warmer weather back so I can wear the sandals again! This summer I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried new outfits, I am pleased I did as I think I pulled them off. But I am most comfiest in Jeans and a simple tee. Perfect mum uniform.

Two || Mince Pies. I know, I know, we are only in September, but I have literally had the week from hell {with some good bits} and I saw these on my weekly shopping trip and they somehow managed to fall into my trolley. Anyone that knows me, knows I love a good Mince Pie. I could literally eat them all year round. Perfect timing to spot them really as they cheered me up no end! I say it every year, but I am determined to make some this year, I tried a few years ago and they were awful so that put me off ever trying again! I have come to realise that Mince Pies are rather like Marmite, you either love them or loathe them!

Three || Head Space. Its been quite a week, and I am thankful that this one needs daily walks. Its nice to get out and clear your head. Smell the fresh air and instantly feel more human. I won’t lie, this week has been really hard, I have been waiting on news for something and then Henry had a really really bad day, which was brutal. Never has he reacted to school in the way he did and it was pretty hard going. But this little one seemed to make it all better and when it was getting tough, I would forget everything and head out with her. The weather is certainly changing as the morning walks are so much chillier than what I have been used too!

Four || New Tiles. So I know I mentioned last week about us starting to tile the kitchen. I just have to share this as a favourite this week as its pretty damn amazing. James doesn’t tile, he doesn’t even fit kitchens, but he fitted ours and he managed to tile it too! I am so pleased with it and already it looks so so much better. More like the kitchen I have been longing for. Its still not finished, we still have quite a bit left to tile but he managed to tile the biggest wall that needed doing. I am so impressed with him and he really can do anything he puts his  mind to. Obviously it needs grouting and the extractor fan needs to go up, but finally things are slowly coming together! The bonus is, we have saved so much money, by doing it all ourselves!

Five || Swimming. Now we are back to school, it means after school clubs are back in action. To be honest, we only do swimming {and a few clubs the school outs on}. It isn’t like I am forever driving around to different clubs like some parents. Only Henry goes swimming now, Gracie had a little accident when she went last year, and although she loves the water, she wanted to give up. I made sure she was strong enough and spoke with her teacher who reassured me that she was at the stage where she could stop.

Henry has had a very long six week break, so I was a bit nervous about heading back. He has done so well. I will admit he isn’t really a fan of going, but once he is there he loves it. He has come on so well and its lovely to see him improve each week. {not a swimming related photo!}

    That cute little face could not be responsible for driving you to escape with Fleur surely!?! Little monkey. Hope he’s a bit more settled this week for you, especially as it’s a big week for you x

      Yes that cute little face caused so much stress on Friday! Haha! But he had a much better day yesterday which hopefully means no more shock outbursts of “I hate school”
