THE HUNDRED MILE AN HOUR DOG: MASTER OF DISGUISE | BOOK REVIEW

A few weeks ago I was asked if G and H would like to review the new Jeremy Strong book, The hundred mile an hour dog: Master of Disguise. Now If I am totally honest I had not heard of any of Jeremy’s books and if I saw it in the book shop I think I would totally by pass it.

We love books here at Mummy Hearts You and when I was growing up books played a huge part of my childhood and its something I want to bring into G and H’s. I think its really important to read to children and even get them to read to me sometimes!

Whats the book about then…

A brand new adventure for the Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Dog gives us more laugh-out-loud capers for Trevor and his ridiculously speedy dog, Streaker.

With mysterious pet-kidnappings going on all around and Dad threatening to send Streaker to behaviour boot camp, Trevor needs to come up with a way to keep Streaker safe.

Enter best friend Tina and her mum’s hair extensions and dye . . .

Giggle all the way to the end of Trevor’s master plan!

We read the book before bed each night. I have to admit, the book didn’t really have G and H gripped although I found it funny and I really liked the illustrations throughout. Both of them had a giggle at certain parts including disguising Streaker as a zebra. I would recommend the book but maybe for the slightly older child as G and H lost concentration in some parts.

Its definitely a book I will go back too when they are older. Jeremy Strong has a whole range of books that I can see us reading when they both have a little bit more concentration in them!

The book currently retails at £5.99. We were sent a copy for the purpose of this review.
