THESE TWO | OCTOBER

THESE TWO | OCTOBER

Every month I have decided to pop up a post all about my two. It only seems fitting considering this is a parenting blog. It’s rare that I blog about G and H specifically. I blog about how hard I find parenting and the struggles that come along with it, but not individually on how they are doing. I used to do updates every few months on how each were doing but I’ve decided to do it slightly different with how I go about the blog post. Monthly posts I feel will work better, and it’s a prompt for me to take more photos. Which is what I am lacking lately!

This month has flown by, it only feels like yesterday I was popping up a post about them from September! I really wish time would slow down, just so I could get a grip on whats happening and cherish those moments more. Its been a full on month.

I have to admit, some parts have been really hard. G has had nothing but trouble at school this month and we have had a few meltdowns and I’ve really struggled to process what she has been telling me. Its all been resolved but its bought quite a few tears with it. Sometimes I wish I could put both G and H in a bubble and keep them from harms way.

We are back at swimming lessons and G has improved so much. She really is doing so well and she makes me so proud. She has mastered most strokes and she has really been enjoying it. All I can ask is she attends and has fun. At the moment that’s what is happening, so it makes me a happy mummy. H has improved so much too. He managed to swim a whole width without arm bands and any kind of help. He, as was I was so impressed!

Last month I spoke about sibling rivalry and how hard I was finding it. This month it has become so much better. With a ban on technical devices in place I have seen a massive change in both G and H’s behaviour. Its amazing what a break from any kind of device does to your child. Its definitely something that has been welcomed in our house!

H has had a good month at school. He is always learning new things and is forever asking questions about things he has covered in school. He has moved up two book levels since last month, which is phenomenal. His writing is still something we need to improve on, but he is doing well and thats all I can ask of him. He is loving school and spending time with his friends.

This month has been such a wonderful month. I have really enjoyed watching both G and H grow. Its lovely to see and something I will always cherish.

POP UP BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE WALKING DEAD, COMFORT FOOD | LITTLE LOVES 41/52

POP UP BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE WALKING DEAD, COMFORT FOOD | LITTLE LOVES 41/52

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and thats a LittleLove round up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

Like last week, this week has been a bit hard for me. I have been waiting for that all important date and yesterday I finally received the confirmation letter and I am booked in for my op on Tuesday. Im feeling really overwhelmed by it all yet again. I wrote a post up, which is a bit of a personal one. Its all about guilt and how very guilty I feel putting everyone through it again. I cannot shake the feeling and I am struggling to keep focused on the positives. But like last week I am trying to pick out my Little Loves of the week and trying to distract my wandering brain to the positives that have happened throughout half term!!

Without too much waffling here is this weeks #LittleLove

In just shy of 2 weeks I will have a beautiful 9 year old. I still cannot believe how quickly those 9 years have gone. My mum and her husband are away for her birthday, and as they go on Monday, I agreed that she could one their birthday gifts early. Now we are yet to read this, as its so delicate and I am petrified of tearing it! But they bought her the most amazing pop-up Beauty and The Beast story book. I have never seen a pop up book like it and I was amazed at the detail. Its really is such a beautiful book and there are so many different bits you can pull out and read. We both cannot wait to have a quiet moment to sit and read it together.

Lots of Kids TV! Its half term here so we have been making the most of Netflix and kids channels. I was literally on standby for a last minute date, I was told it could possibly be a days notice so I purposely didn’t plan anything during the week. So the days we have not been out its been TV/Sofa days which quite frankly have been lovely.

Can we take a moment to talk about The Walking Dead. Its back! If you have not given this program a go, then YOU SHOULD! The opening to season 7 was a bit weird, but all the same, I am so glad its back. I love Negan. Your supposed to hate the bad guys, but I love how Jeffrey Dean Morgan portrays him.

I watched Bake Off. We tend not to watch it on the night its aired as I can’t stand the adverts and 90% of the time I find myself drifting off. I was gobsmacked that Liam went last week. Mr B and I really thought he deserved to stay. This week again, I feel they got it wrong again. I really hope they don’t mess this final up. I really want Sophie to win it. She has deserved to get Star Baker more times than she has! She is by far my favourite of the three remaining. Can we also take a moment to mention the Flamingo Show Stopper!?? I mean, it was bloody amazing!

I’ve also watched, Our Girl, which kicked up a gear this week. I was only talking to my sister about it before I watched it, saying I was disappointed with it. This week was a good episode though! The Apprentice I am behind on, so will catch up with that tonight and Celebrity Hunted! Cant believe Anniker Rice failed!! I am back Spencer and Jamie!

Not much this week.. Lots of Chatter from G and H. its been lovely listening to them play. They have both been obsessed with Lego Dimensions, more so H but G has been playing it to help him out. Its nice not to hear them bickering!

Nothing to shout about really. I have been wrapping up warm as the temperature has dropped. Knits and jumpers have been my go to wear this week.

I have also been wearing my new Marc Jacobs Mascara. It so lovely and makes my lashes look extra thick and full! Just what I need.

I made a very delicious Shepherds pie this week. Who doesn’t love comfort food? Shepherds Pie is one of my favourites. I slow cooked the mince all day and then popped it in the oven when it was time. I cooked up some veg and it was a big hit. G and H wouldn’t eat it, but my mum and her husband polished it off. Its not Mr B’s choice of dinners but he even said how tasty it was. I made enough to freeze some for next week too!

As well as the beautiful book G received, she was also bought the new Lego and Friends Catamaran set. We spent Wednesday morning building it together. G did so well. She did give up on the last bag. She was so chuffed she made most of it herself though! I was slightly put out as she is now at the age where she wants to do it and I can’t sit there and do it for her! I love building Lego!

We have no real plans for the weekend. We may go and watch a free fireworks display that is put on every weekend up to bonfire night. They are normally really good and we have heard lots of good things about them. So we will make the trip to the beach and watch the display unfold from afar.

What ever your up to, have a wonderful weekend!

SULTANA LOAF CAKE | RECIPE

SULTANA LOAF CAKE | RECIPE

THE OVERWHELMING SENSE OF GUILT

THE OVERWHELMING SENSE OF GUILT

SLEEP MASKS, COSY BLANKETS, YAY FOR HALF TERM | LITTLE LOVES 40/52

SLEEP MASKS, COSY BLANKETS, YAY FOR HALF TERM | LITTLE LOVES 40/52

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and thats a LittleLove round up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

This week has been a hard week. Its the last week of term and I have 2 very tired children on my hands. H is so warn out he has come down with some nasty bug, so today has been a pyjama kind of day. G is off to her friends house after school and then on to her swimming lesson later tonight. She really didn’t want to miss it which is a bit of a shocker as lately she has been determined not to go!

If you saw my Instagram post this week, you will know I didn’t have the nest news at my 3 monthly check-up. Its resulted in a urgent referral and a lot of “what ifs” I really do not know what to think. I am going to write up a post of my feelings as I think it will help me to get it off my chest. I actually wasn’t going to link up this week, but the whole #LittleLove theory is to pick out the good bits from your week. So I am trying to distract from the bad and concentrate of the parts I have loved.

Without too much waffling here is this weeks #LittleLove

I have been obsessed with Hannah Gale’s blog and vlog since MumReinveted mentioned her on my weekly {which is changing to monthly!} link up For The Love Of. I love everything about it and I am slightly disappointed that she has put vlogging on hold as I loved her weekly catch-ups. But doesn’t put me off reading her gorgeous blog. If you have not checked it out then head over and have a read!

Who watched the finale of Liar? I won’t give much away, but, I was hugely disappointed with it. It ended really suddenly and I was quite shocked at the way they left it. Perfect ending for a follow up series if you ask me! What did you think?

I have been watching two very similar programmes this week. Ambulance and 999: On The Frontline. I’ve really been enjoying both series and I am amazed at how the NHS cope with the amount of 999 calls! I’m also shocked that we get to see an insight into the amount of hoax calls. I honestly don’t get it. It actually made me really cross that people can be so stupid to waste precious emergancy time. Mind boggling.

I know I shared a video from Katie last week, {not ashamed to say she is one of my all round favourites!} but I am going to share another video she popped up this week. It was all about how she edits her Instagram photos. I found some really useful tips from her that I hope I can achieve on my Insta-snaps! Such a good video.

I am half way through watching George Micheal’s film Freedom on channel 4. Its spurred me on to listen to him over on Spotify whilst prepping dinner this week. I still cannot believe he will never make music again. Such a loss.

Handing this over to G, she is obsessed with eye masks {the sleep kind}. She had a birthday party on Sunday for a friend which was in Claire’s. They were given some money to spend in store and she chose this rather lovely fox eye mask. Sh totally rocks it and has been wearing it every night at bedtime! I snuck in whilst she was asleep and snapped a photo of her, to cute!

On Thursday I literally spent the day wrapped up in my favourite blanket and making copious amounts of tea in my favourite mug. Purely because I was feeling so sorry for myself. I don’t think I have ever drank that much tea in a day before! I’m definitely in need of a caffeine detox now!

I also “made” chair of the PTA for another year. I’ll admit I was in two minds as to whether I wanted to actually do it again. I decided It was actually a really good distraction and I find it really rewarding when we make money for the school. We did really well last year and I am determined to do even better this year!

Its half term now and we are very much in need of some slower paced days. All plans are on hold until I hear from the hospital. I my be given just a days notice so I don’t really want to be stressing about booking and cancelling days out. I will have to take it one day at a time and decided daily what we are going to do!

What ever your up to, have a wonderful weekend!
