THE ENAMEL PIN TREND {COMPETITION}

THE ENAMEL PIN TREND {COMPETITION}

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but pin badges have been gaining popularity recently and I’ve been seeing them everywhere. Over the last year or so, there has been a growing trend for enamel pin badges. You only have to take a quick glance at on social media to get an idea of how many fabulous pin badges there are to choose from!

And from what I can tell – one pin is never enough! Whether you are a designer or a customer it seems it is all too easy to become a pin collector. There is something rather lovely about a enamel pins and their designs. You can now get a whole range, from cute to motivational.

People are always finding a way to express themselves and the pin badge is so much cheaper than a tattoo, so why not stock up and display them on a scarf, a denim jacket or even a pair of dungarees? They are so affordable too, most shops ranging from £5 – £10 which really is a good price to express yourself!

Old English Co have a wonderful range of enamel pins on their website, I already have a huge wish list of the ones I absolutely love. Here are some of my favourites from their site.

She is fierce £7 | Dream Big £7 | Believe In Magic £7 | The No Sleep Gang £7 | Number 1 Mother £7 | Mama Bear £7

WHAT I’VE READ | MARCH

WHAT I’VE READ | MARCH

I promised my self at the beginning of the year that I wanted to read more in 2018. So far its going well and I am really enjoying the books have have picked out so far. I have a huge pile to get through but I though I would share with you what I have managed to complete in March {give or take, I did read one in February}. Ever since reading Girl On The Train, I have loved a psychological thriller/crime genre, so there is a bit of a theme here with the books I have divulged into this month. I would absolutely love it of you would leave a comment recommending any you have read recently that I can add to my list to read!

Firstly I read Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell. I’ve not read any of Lisa’s books before. I have heard great things about her so was excited to see if the book was as good as the reviews. This was so good I actually read it, in just over a week, which is pretty fast for me. I sat in front of the TV of an evening and buried myself into the world of Laurel and quickly was intrigued to know what actually happened to Ellie. It was a disturbing but great read and I would really recommend it to anyone that loves a Thriller. I am definitely going to be looking out for more novels by Lisa Jewell as she had me hooked from page one with this one. Here is a quick synopsis of Then She Was Gone.

THEN: She was fifteen, her mother’s golden girl. She had her whole life ahead of her. And then, in the blink of an eye, Ellie was gone.

NOW: It’s been ten years since Ellie disappeared, but Laurel has never given up hope of finding her daughter. And then one day a charming and charismatic stranger called Floyd walks into a café and sweeps Laurel off her feet. Before too long she’s staying the night at this house and being introduced to his nine year old daughter.
Poppy is precocious and pretty – and meeting her completely takes Laurel’s breath away. Because Poppy is the spitting image of Ellie when she was that age. And now all those unanswered questions that have haunted Laurel come flooding back.

What happened to Ellie? Where did she go? Who still has secrets to hide?

The second book I read was The Escape by C.L. Taylor. I have seen this author floating around on Instagram. Lots of people seem to like her, so I picked this one up and she did not disappoint. I Loved this book. Its definitely a fast paced thriller to keep you guessing and wondering. It is told over two parts and although the second part is a little slower than the first. Its a book I would really recommend reading, its had a few mixed reviews but I really enjoyed it.

“Look after your daughter’s things. And your daughter…”

When a stranger asks Jo Blackmore for a lift she says yes, then swiftly wishes she hadn’t. The stranger knows Jo’s name, she knows her husband Max and she’s got a glove belonging to Jo’s two year old daughter Elise. What begins with a subtle threat swiftly turns into a nightmare as the police, social services and even Jo’s own husband turn against her. No one believes that Elise is in danger. But Jo knows there’s only one way to keep her child safe – RUN.

So you may of seen this book and ALL its reviews over Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. I picked it up because it was what EVERYONE seemed to be reading, it actually turned out to be one of those perfectly-balanced sad/funny books. I didn’t want it to end and I connected with Eleanor. The book was so well written and for Gail’s first novel it was brilliant. If you have not read it yet, then I really really recommend you do. Its such a wonderful read so much so I actually want to read it again!

No one’s ever told Eleanor that life should be better than fine.

Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she’s thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions. Weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy.

But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office. When she and Raymond together save Sammy, an elderly gentleman who has fallen on the sidewalk, the three become the kinds of friends who rescue one another from the lives of isolation they have each been living. And it is Raymond’s big heart that will ultimately help Eleanor find the way to repair her own profoundly damaged one.

Soon to be a major motion picture, Eleanor Oliphant is the smart, warm, and uplifting story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine whose deadpan weirdness and unconscious wit make for an irresistible journey as she realizes. . .

The only way to survive is to open your heart.

NEW BOOKS, UB40, A START ON OUR KITCHEN | LITTLE LOVES

NEW BOOKS, UB40, A START ON OUR KITCHEN | LITTLE LOVES

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and that’s a Little Love round-up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

Its been a funny ole week. My mood has certainly reflected it. I was a hormonal wreck at the start and every little thing set me off with tears. At least once a month I have these weird outburst that I just can’t shake, so this week has been a bit of a right off. Im so glad its Friday so I can just enjoy the weekend!

Without too much waffling, here are the little things I have been loving.

I bought two new books this week. Friend Request and The Girlfriend. I also have Good Me Bad Me to read which my friend lent me. A nice collection to get through. I’m still reading Eleanor Oliphant. I would of been finished by now with it, if my dog had not got hold of it and shredded it to bits! I ended up having to order it again. I’m fully engrossed in Eleanor’s weird and wonderful life!

Right, I binged watched Save Me last Friday and I have not stopped going on about it since. I have literally been telling everyone to watch it as it was so good. The last episode had me screaming! If you have not watched it then you should!

Few other programs I have watched this week are, One Born Every Minute, Call The midwife {which complete broke me!} America’s Next Top Model, Suits, Greys Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder.

If you have watched Save Me then you will know why I chose this. Lennie James rendition was so good and I’ve been listening to this song constantly.

I got all excited on Monday when all the snow had disappeared AND the sun was shining. Literally I was embracing the spring air and did the school run in a jumper. Was thoroughly disappointed when I was back in my coat by 3pm!

We made a start on our kitchen. We spent last weekend, smashing the tiles of the wall and changing the plug sockets over to nice shiny new ones. Its been a long time coming and I am so excited for the coming weeks and the end result!

We have an extremely busy weekend. More work on the kitchen, its delivered on Saturday and we still have so much to do! We also are out on Sunday with Mr B’s family. Next week, mr B is off and is dedicating his time to the kitchen! I am so excited!

Whatever your up too, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I am linking up with the ever so lovely Morgana over at her new blog Coffee Work Sleep Repeat  for this linky,
