MY LOVE FOR COPPER ACCESSORIES

MY LOVE FOR COPPER ACCESSORIES

Our lounge is fast taking shape. With just a few more big jobs to do I am finally getting excited about adding all the things I have been lusting after. Mr B and I had both decided on a green theme with accents of copper. Copper has fast become a huge favourite in many households and I cannot wait to add little touches of it to ours. I have been pinning madly to Pinterest all the things I love and I cannot wait to purchase a few accent bits.

Our lounge is made up of 3 parts. We have the living area which has a feature wall with Orla Kiely wallpaper. It has turned out beautifully. We decided to paint the chimney breast the same colour as the wallpaper. Everything else is white. We have an office and back room which again is white {the office is Mr B’s domain} and the back room my domain {technically not but I’m entitled to a room!}

I have an image of how I want the rooms to look, the office I have no control over as its basically a man-room, but the rest I can put my stamp on, with a few nods of agreement from Mr B. I have seen lots I love and most of what I love will fit perfectly into our new living space.

1. I’m absolutely loving this style of table. I have the perfect space for it and I can really envisage it in my lounge. Its definitely going to be something I look into getting.

2/3. Oh succulents, how I love thee and I adore these cute little pots that these ones come in. I have seen a fair few fake succulants which I will probable steer towards. I am definitely going to be popping by Etsy and popping a few of these little ones in my basket.

4/7. Cushions don’t seem to last long in our house. Once the renovations have finished and its less dusty we will be able to throw a few onto the sofa. We will eventually be getting a new sofa so as a result I have to spruce up the old one with a few scatter cushions.

5/6/8. I love a candles and any kind of candle holder. I take after my mum in that sense. Throughout the winter I have them burning continuously. The ceramic pot candles are handy as they look like an ornament which will look nice sitting on a shelf. The candle holders are copper wire and would fit in perfectly, most of all they would match our light fixtures.

Do you have a copper theme? How have you created a space which is stylish, yet homely?

PARENTS EVENING, WALKING, GARDENING | LITTLE LOVE 10/52

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and thats a LittleLove round up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

Its been a busy week this week. I have managed to get out for at least a 3 mile walk every day and I feel so much better for it. My head is so clear when I arrive back and I feel so calm. I have been tracking all my mileage on my watch but had an unfortunate event when I accidentally deleted all my work outs when I transferred all my data over to my new phone! I stupidly didn’t back up the phone correctly and then deleted it all!! You live and learn!

Without too much waffling here is this weeks #LittleLove

Read

G and H had their parents evening this week, so I read some lovely comments by their teachers. It was lovely to here such wonderful things about them and both are doing so well academically. I couldn’t be prouder.

Watched

Mr B has been working late’s this week so it was ample opportunity for me to watch what I wanted of an evening! The Replacement, which is so good and if you have not started it you really should. Broadchurch which again was another excellent episode.

I’ve been watching the new series of Nashville, and I am so so disappointed in this season. Im not going to give away any spoilers but its pretty sad and I don’t know whether I can carry on watching it!

I also “watched” Mr B prep our lounge for its renovation! We have completed upstairs {minus the hallway} and are now concentrating on downstairs and we can finally get painting. I have a clear image of what I want, modern, fresh and cosy. I’m so excited about the next few weeks to finally get some colour on the wall, and most importantly watching Mr B lay our flooring!

Heard

Normally I am pretty good with this section but I cant think of anything that has really stood out! I have been listening to the very taleted Lennon and Maisy who star in Nashville. I have mentioned them a few times on here and I could listen to them all day long. Maisy Stella sang a gorgeous rendition of Adele’s Make You Feel My Love, I cant share it as it has a spoiler in it! But I will leave you with this..

Wore

Trainers, I’ve made progress with my walking as I said before and I have really taken a liking to it. I need to get a new pair of trainers though as I think {well I know} mine are too small and I have been left with sore toes!

I also got dressed up on Saturday night. We were invited to a 40th birthday party. It was optional fancy dress and me being boring decided to opt out of dressing up, but I did where a lovely fuchsia dress I bought for my mums wedding a few years ago. I have to admit, I felt rather frumpy in it, which has sparked the incentive to really give this walking a good try. I was a bit self conscious if I am honest! But it was a lovely night and I drank way to much!

Made

Last weekend we spent Saturday in the garden “making” it look pretty. Last October I planted so many bulbs. I literally scattered them around the garden and hoped for the best. I’m no gardener and I am still learning and this was a huge learning curve for me. I realised I maybe should of planted the bulbs in group and not just scattered them!! We had so many sprouting up here, there and everywhere! A trip to the garden centre for some new pots soon sorted it all out. Now I have lots of pots with lots of spring flowers! Its looking rather lovely. Cannot wait for the warmer weather so I can sit outside {with a shaded umbrella of course!} Also, how amazing is my new watering can?!?!?

Mr B also “made” a dash out to get me some hash browns to cure my hangover, which didn’t work, as I had to cook them myself!

And lastly..

Tonight I am at a charity quiz night. I am supporting a mum friend who is running the marathon in memory of her best friend. She has worked so hard and has raised an amazing amount of cash. I have made the wise decision not to drink as I went out last weekend and may of spent Sunday nursing a god awful hangover! I don’t want to be doing that again in a hurry!

Whatever your up too, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I am linking up with the ever so lovely Morgana over at her new blog Coffee Work Sleep Repeat  for this linky,

WALKING MY WAY TO A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE

WALKING MY WAY TO A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE

Last year I made a promise to myself that I would start running. I managed 4 runs and promptly gave up. It’s not the first time I have tried. It became very clear that running was not something I enjoyed. In fact I hated it. […]

THESE TWO | FEBUARY

THESE TWO | FEBUARY

Every month I have decided to pop up a post all about my two. It only seems fitting considering this is a parenting blog. It’s rare that I blog about G and H specifically. I blog about how hard I find parenting and the struggles that come along with it, but not individually on how they are doing. I used to do updates every few months on how each were doing but I’ve decided to do it slightly different with how I go about the blog post. Monthly posts I feel will work better, and it’s a prompt for me to take more photos. Which is what I am lacking lately!

February has flown by, literally I cannot believe we are facing the beginning of March tomorrow, March is an exciting month as it brings with it {hopefully} my favourite season! We had signs of spring through out February and we made the most of those days and as a family we spent some quality time together.

This month G and H have achieved so much. G is still swimming with the school and although we had a hiccup with her outside lessons we managed to persuade her into going and finally she realised she can do whatever she puts her mind too. She is such an amazing swimmer and she just needs that little bit more confidence into knowing she is. H has been going swimming outside of school now for a few weeks and he throws himself into and I love watching him improve weekly.

We have had many playdates this month. I am trying to be better in having their friends over. We have alternated it so G has someone over and then H. I enjoy seeing both socialising and its important for them to have a lovely circle of friends. Thankfully they both do.

This month we have had two very tired children. I am not 100% sure why, but bedtime seems to have hit a brick wall. I have somehow lost the plot a little with it.  G and H are going through a phase of bickering quite a lot too and the number one factor in all this is tiredness. I am rubbish on very little sleep, so I hate to imagine how they feel. When they are bickering and fighting I loose the will to live and I find parenting them very hard. G is very strong willed and once she gets something in her head, she doest let up. H has a temper on him and this has only started  since starting school. {I am sure you wouldn’t believe that judging by the picture below – Butter wouldn’t melt?}

One thing as a family we are trying to do is game afternoons. Of a weekend if we are not busy we tend to just stay at home. Santa bought some lovely family board games. We have been spending a few hours out of our weekend enjoying each others company and competing against each other! It a lovely way to spend quality time together and something we are all enjoying.

I have loved watching these two in February. They have been a complete and utter joy to watch.
