Or otherwise known as reward charts, which I don’t really like to use that term. Ive given in and bought one as we have a problem in our household. Nothing drastic, nothing nasty or viscous, something really simple that just needs to be tackled before school and this is my last desperate hope of trying to get Moo to learn. She knows what to do but she just needs that little nudge and boost so I am hoping this will sort out our little problem.
It came through the post last week and I thought I may as well introduce the other factors in to it at well. She is pretty good at sharing (when she wants too) and most of the time is nice to her baby brother, but this is that extra thing that is there in the back of her mind knowing she will get a star at the end of the day! She is constantly asking
Will I get a star for that mummy
My reply is always the same
We shall see…
Already, 3 days in I have noticed a change! We are still battling with our little problem, but we are getting somewhere with that, which is a good sign! Tea time is terrible for me, and the last few nights Moo has really tried and she has been given stars as she has given her food a good effort, where as before she would not bother, I am really proud of her for taking to it so well! She will get a reward at the end if she manages to reach 20 stars, we started of a bit low, so next week we are upping it as she is doing rather well this week!!
Some people really don’t like star charts and some swear by them, if this helps with my main reason for buying it then I will be over the moon, but we shall see! Also this will see me through to Thor, we are really trying to get him to say please and Thank you (in his own little way of course!) and teaching him to share, so I think this is a great boost for him too!
