Shoe’s Fit For A Girls First Day… {Part One – Part of A school Days Post}

Shoes, the dreaded school shoes. If you don’t already know Clarks monopolise the school shoe business. I actually refuse to step into to Clarks, they are expensive and only seem to last a measly few months. First shoes I have always bought from Clarks, crawler shoes and cruiser shoes but from walking I tend to go else where. What also puts me of Clarks is the appointment system you have to go by, booking up weeks in advance to buy a pair of shoes.

Last week we went to our local shopping centre all ready to buy Moo’s first ever pair of shoes! This should of been an exciting, fun happy occasion. It was in fact, stressful, chaotic and a complete and utter let down! I saw a cute pair of shoes I wanted. We got Moo’s feet measured and chose the shoes only to be told we couldn’t have them as they were actually out of stock and we were unable to have them ordered in. I think in kind words we were being told we had left the school shoe shopping too late! We were shown some different styles but I was not keen. I wanted this style, and brand. Moo was used to Kickers. I like Kickers, they are sturdy, robust and are long lasting. I think they are perfect for school shoes.

We went to the only other shoe shop there was on our shopping centre and they didn’t even sell school shoes! My patience was wearing thin. With only two weeks till school I was panicking I was not going to get any shoes! We popped into M&S to buy some PE shoes and Moo picked out some shoes SHE liked. She quickly put them on and started walking up and down in them. I was tempted to buy them but again I was unsure about the longevity of them.

We came home empty handed and I looked online at the original shoe shop to see if I could order them to be delivered at home (you never can tell if they are telling the truth! – she was!) So I ended up going straight to the brand website and ordered them of there. Within 4 days they were delivered, and now I have a happy little girl (and a happy mummy), who has a nice new shiny pair of shoes ready for her first day at school!

One thing I have learnt from this, is not to leave the school shoe shopping till the last minute!
