Gruffalo Hunt…

Yesterday we decided to take a walk in the deep dark woods as Moo likes to put it! Ive been stuck in for 2 whole weeks over the Easter break. First Thor was ill, then Moo had flu and then I  caught it. Still battling with it I decided the spring air would do me good.

The sun was shining through so we packed ourselves of with wellington boots and set of. We had already discoverd The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child (read about it here) but over the last few months the had added to the collection and had spread the rest of the gang around the woods.

I bought a map, and Moo took charge. Daddy had to overlook it as she obviously didn’t have a clue as to where we were going! It was rather busy and technically we didn’t need the map we could of just followed everyone else but it added to the excitement.

First of we found The Squirrel and then The Mouse and The Fox.

Next up was The owl, The snake and lots of mud!

and then lastly was The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s ChildPicMonkey Collage3

The detail that has gone into each character is unbelievable. The Fox was in an underground house, he was pretty hard to find, The owl was high up on a treetop and The Snake was by his log-pile house!

Its definitely something thats worth doing again and again, Moo loved it and Thor at first enjoyed it but it got a bit to muddy for him so I had to run back to the car and get the pram.  Now spring is in the air woodland walks are going to be on my agenda more often!

Thanks for letting me know about the link, just re-corrected it! The woods are in fact in a country park in Essex 🙂
