Bank Holiday

This week we saw another May bank holiday. We had plans to Stay at the in-laws as it was my father in laws birthday and we normally have birthday celebrations in the garden but we were all watching the weather nervously as the week leading up to it was miserable! Family get togethers are always good and as there are so many of us now (6 children and 9 adults) they always end up in the garden!

Sunday morning we woke to blue skies and it was completely different to the previous day, slightly cooler and the especially the week before! Rain Rain and more rain..

My father in law is always so lucky with the weather, it was perfect for water fights in the garden and a lovely homemade buffet spread of salad, prawn curry, pizza, potato’s, noodles, beef, chicken, goujons, and dips. The alcohol drinkers drank wine and the rest drank soft drinks, the children played till their hearts content, running in and out of the pretty little wendy house, playing with the sand table and then having the most amazing water fight with the most amazing water guns! Thor was a bit of a wimp and came for shelter but the rest of them loved it!

We stayed the night as we planned to try out our tent the next morning. We are going camping this year and needed somewhere to pitch the tent to make sure all the parts were together (we bought the tent in the sale). The in-laws garden is big enough for the tent and a few more so it was prefect to try it out there. After a lovely greasy fry up the husband put the tent up in 40 minutes no problems and it looked great, we both got rather excited about the fact that the holiday is just around the corner! (next month!)

Me and the husband snuck off to the cinema mid morning and saw the new Iron Man 3 film which was really good, and it was lovely to spend some time together, even if it was to just watch a film! We arrived back in time for dinner and then left the in-laws for some peace and quiet!

In all it was a great bank holiday and its just the kind of bank holiday I love.
