little loves | november edition

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and that’s a Little Love round-up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

November has flown by, we have celebrated birthdays, enjoyed some fireworks and had some lovely family time. I still cannot believe Gracie is 10! I mean she has been around for 10 years! Doesn’t seem possible really, but those ten years have been wonderful.

There has been some huge changes this month too. I have made the important decision of stepping down from Chair on the schools PTA. I found it quite hard juggling all the events, organising and planning. Now I am working it just wasn’t working for me. It was definitely the best thing for me to do. I will still help out, but knowing I’m not “in charge” is a really nice feeling!

Without too much waffling, here are the little things I have been loving.

I am struggling to fit in any reading at the moment. I’ve dropped out the habit of reading at school pick up as when I get to the school I tend to deal with emails, messages and any other errands that need doing. I am still reading Faking Friends and still very much enjoying it. I need to pick it back up though and finish it as it’s taken a bit of a twist and I’m intrigued to see what happens.

I’m a Celebrity I love this program and I am livening this series. So many good things about it this year. I am rooting for several favourites to be in the final Harry, Anne, Nick and John are currently my favourites. Not to sure how to take Noel but he is proving to be a good contestant. In fact all the celebrities are great this year. Loving the Dec and Holly duo too, it’s worked really well.

Making a Murderer – I am one and a half episodes away from finishing the second series. I had a bit of a binge watch but slowed down because I felt like I was missing bits out. I’m still amazed that something like this could ever happen. I’m still in the “he didn’t do it” camp. I firmly believe he was set up, does everyone think that way? Would love to know if you think he was guilty and why?

Bohemian Rhapsody – this was pretty awesome. We had a very rare night off from parent duties so we decided to make the most of it and head out in a little date night. I loved this film and I love queen that little bit more. It’s a must watch if you have not seen it already. Would definitely recommend. You will be singing queen for weeks after!

John Lewis Christmas Advert – This year it’s a bit like marmite, you either live it hate it. I’m in the live it camp. I really like the story behind the advert, and the little boy just melts my heart at the end. I choke up every time I see it. What’s your thoughts on it?

A Star is Born Soundtrack This has been playing on my Spotify for weeks now. I am yet to see the film, I am desperate to see it. The soundtrack is pretty amazing and Lady Gaga so bloody talented.

Queen After watching Bohemian Rhapsody I went straight to Spotify and put the OST into a playlist. The music used throughout the film are all my favourites and it reignited my love of queen.

Little Mix Gracie has non-stopped played the lyrical videos on Youtube. She is determined to listen to all their songs and learn all the words ready for next years concert. She has mastered half the new album so far. I have to admit, the album is pretty good. I even find myself singing along.

The big coat has made an appearance. I need to get the zip fixed but it’s keeping me warm on the chiller mornings. I’ve also been rocking the bobble hat, I absolutely hate cold ears! The weather is teasing us though, being really cold in the morning but just peaking double figures at afternoon pick up.

I bought a Christmas party outfit this month. Now I am working I am heading out for a works Christmas party. I bought a new pair of shoes from BooHoo (they are now in the sale!) and a really lovely, but very sparkly top from Oasis (which, again is now in the sale)

I also have been wearing the death out of my bargain rainbow jumper {in the above picture} I love the length of the sleeves and I adore the rainbow stripes down the arms. Its a funny material though and snags really easily so I have had to “fix” it a few times. Its lovely and cosy though so perfect for the colder weather.

Roagn Josh – This month I tried a new dish, well we all did. Gracie and Henry had an afternoon of cooking at school one day and they both came out and raved about a dish they cooked. Shockingly they both ate it and asked me to cook it. That dish was a chicken rogan josh. It was lovely and one I cooked again this week. It went down well with everyone and it was nice to cook one meal that we all ate!

Cake – I made a birthday cake this month. In fact I made quite a few cakes throughout the month. The birthday cake went down really well, and was one of the best cakes I’ve made for a birthday. I whipped up some brownie which wasn’t as good as the cake, but it was still demolished within 10 minutes of it leaving the oven. Brownie is best warm!

And Lastly

Last month Morgana asked if I would take over Little Loves from January. It didn’t take me long to reply. I’ve said so many times how much I love this linky. I’ve been an avid supporter of it and I was blown away when I was asked to host it. I’m really excited and I really hope you all are too! I will most likely move it back to weekly unless you all prefer to have it monthly still? Let me know your thoughts in the comments?

The husband and I really want to see Bohemian Rhapsody but we’ve got no chance of squeezing in a date night any time in the near future so we’ll most likely have to wait until it’s out on DVD. We saw We Will Rock You many years ago at London’s West End and it was amazing so I have high expectations of the film. Personally I prefer doing a monthly Little Loves post, so even if it moves back to being weekly I’ll only join in at the end of the month – I like looking back and doing around up of everything from the whole month!

Oh you will love Bohemian Rhapsody if you liked the stage show! I think if the majority want to keep it monthly I will keep it they way it is – only makes sense 🙂

I still haven’t seen Bohemian Rhapsody, I so need to see it! I do love bit of Queen. I may be rather partial to Little Mix too, much to the teen’s disgust! You added a new curry to your Friday night tradition! And made me crave a curry too. I’m trying to get back into reading on the school run. I tend to watch instagram stories and get lost for ages. I took my book today. Hopefully I can keep it up. I do a weekly roundup most weeks although it doesn’t follow the #littleloves format. I guess if it went back to weekly I’d just change the way I did my posts or skip the odd week 😉 x

Bohemian Rhapsody is on my list of things to watch, I’m so hoping that we make it before it goes off the cinema screen! I don’t think it would be the same on DVD, do you? Sounds like you’ve made some good decisions and changes to your lifestyle this month, it’s important to take stock every now and again isn’t it? I only ever join in with Little Loves once a month because I know that I don’t have time to write more often than that but you do whatever feels comfortable for you. xx

I was going to start joining in again with Little Loves in January, and I’m the sort of person that likes to link up to every one (I hate missing ones out), but I really don’t think I can manage to do it weekly. So if it does revert to that, then I may have to miss out on it….

I admire that you have been able to organise your life better by ‘retiring’ from the PTA, too often it feels we try to do everything and pretend its nothing and then feel overwhelmed. I still haven’t been able to see Bohemian Rhapsody it’s a minimum 45 mile round trip to the cinema so we try and wait for films on Sky, although most holidays I make a day out of it and see a children’s film. I’ve done little loves as a weekly and monthly post, there are positives to both. I liked the routine of a weekly post although there’s more to write in a monthly post if you can remember it all! Thank you for taking on the pinky, I get lots of inspiration from reading the posts.
