Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and that’s a Little Love round-up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.
This month has seen us basking in a heat-wave, Henry turning seven and me been very busy with school events, work and mum life! Its really nice to sit down and reflect back on what was June. I am not sure, but for me it has gone particularly slow. Its not flown by, which is nice, because the last few months have flashed past. Cannot believe we are heading into July in a matter of days.
Summer is officially here, I wont lie, I have been struggling a lot in the heat. Trying to find shade wherever I go. Its hard to constantly have a battle on your hands, worried, scared and generally really panicky about the hottest parts of the day. Which is generally right at school pick-up! I am literally a walking, talking, tube of factor 50!
Without too much waffling, here are the little things I have been loving.
So, I am STILL reading Friend Request, but I ma very very nearly finished with it. I have to admit. It was a slow read to begin with but it has really picked up the pace and I am finding it really hard to put down. I managed to seek solace under a tree in the shade before the school pick up to read a few chapters mid week.
Ok, so Love Island! Who is watching? I got a bit behind this week and so yesterday I was playing catch-up. Im a bit flabbergasted with the actions that have gone on this week! What are your thoughts? I have my favourites, Danni and Jack. I really don’t like Eyal or Adam.
Last month I wrote about Netflix’s new programme Safe. I finished it and I was hooked. If you have not seen it then I recommend you pop it in your watch list. It was really really good and had be gripped from beginning till end.
Another Netflix program I have been watching is The Staircase. I am only on episode one, but already its got me wondering! In 2001 novelist Michael Peterson’s wife died, and he claimed she perished after falling down stairs at their home. The medical examiner, however, determined that she had been beaten with a weapon, which led to Peterson becoming a suspect in what would become a murder investigation.
This series, which began with eight episodes in 2005 before being updated in 2013 and 2018, follows the investigation as it proceeds from Peterson’s arrest to a verdict being reached in the ensuing trial. The real-life courtroom thriller offers a rare and revealing inside look at a high-profile murder trial and an examination of contemporary American justice.
At some point month Morgana shared a song on Insta-Stories. I briefly heard the snippet of John Mayer’s New Light and its a song, I have not been able to stop listening too. Its very catchy and you will find yourself humming along to it {after a few listens of course!}
Another song I have been listening to a lot this month is Shotgun by George Ezra. I’m loving it and its just as catchy as John Mayer’s New Light.

This little one has really really struggled this month. I am way out of my comfort zone in parenting. Its so hard being a girl, all the changes you go though. I am confused by it all, let alone this 9 year old staring back at you. Its been a month of long conversations about whats to come. Its so painful to watch and she still seems so young. She has a rather sensible head on her though and seems to be taking everything in her stride. Me? I am hiding a host of emotions.
Whatever your up too, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I am linking up with the ever so lovely Morgana over at her new blog Coffee Work Sleep Repeat for this linky,
I’d love to get that camera!! The skirt looks fab on you as do the sandals. I’ve heard a lot of things about The Staircase but haven’t watched it myself. #LittleLoves
My son had a birthday this week too, and your cake effort is far better than mine. It’s my daughter’s birthday next week, so really need to think about what I’m going to do for her. X

Oh yeah, I’ve seen the trailer from The Staircase, it’s very intriguing! So sorry to hear your daughter had a hard time this month. I hope everything is going to get better soon. I’m totally jealous of your new camera. I’ve been saying I’m going to buy one for myself all the time but I still haven’t done it. I wish you a very happy July xx
I need to watch The Staircase, it sounds really intriguing. Love the new skirt! Your outfit looks lovely. Reading your book under a shady tree sounds like a lovely way to spend some down time xx
That cake looks brilliant! I love making birthday cakes for my two but they never usually live up to my Pinterest worthy dreams. Aww poor G, growing up is horrible sometimes. For them and for us. The teen has got me addicted to Love Island! I hate it and can’t stop watching it all at the same time. Love that skirt, it looks lovely with your wedges. I keep eyeing up Olympus Pens. I’ve wanted one for ages and my big dslr is ridiculous. I was thinking of asking everyone for money for my birthday this month so I can do a you and get one for myself! I wouldn’t mind it doesn’t matter which camera I have I still can’t take photos! Have a fab month x

It sounds like you’ve had a great month – I’m not a huge fan of the sun either so always try and find shade wherever I am. I’ve not heard of The Staircase but it sounds really interesting, I’ll have to check it out. #LittleLoves
Loving your song choices 😉 You’ve got me listening to John Mayer on Spotify again now!
Your Solilia’s are so pretty, I think I need to get myself a pair! xx
That’s a gorgeous shot where you are on the grass. I hope you’re having fun with the camera and had a great June #littleloves
