little loves 2019 | january edition

Its the end of the month and Its Fri-yay, which means a Little Loves round up.

How long does this month feel? It really has been the longest month ever. January always seems to be very slow, why is that? The lull of that after christmas feel is still very much with us and I am excited to welcome Febuary next week! Without too much waffling her are some of my Little Loves for January.

I started a new book this month. My goal for 2019 was to read more, and Ive barely read one book. The book I have started though has me hooked. Its called Close to Home by Cara Hunter. I have heard great things about it. I have snuck of to bed early quite a few times this week to plough through it. So far so good and I am really enjoying it.

A few blog posts I have read this month are

Morgana’s last Little Loves

Naomi’s post about mothers who mess up

Chole’s 2018 memories

January has been a good month for TV. I have watched a lot and loved a lot. The winter months always brings some good TV with it.

Cleaning Up – I am currently on episode 2 and really enjoying this. I really love Sheridan Smith, but I detest her character. I just want to shake her and tell her she is making a huge mistake. Its a good drama to snuggle up to in the evening with a blanket and hot chocolate!

Manhunt – This was such a good drama about Levi Bellfield. It scared me just how much this man was capable of. Martin Clunes was brilliant and I would really recommend it if you have not seen it already. I am certain its still available on catch up.

The Crown – I am rewatching the series as I made James watch it. I love it and its even better the second time round as I am finding I am picking things up that I didn’t notice when I watched it first time. I am so excited for season three and the change in characters. Honestly if you have not watched it then you really should.

Ava Max – I have listened to Sweet But Pysco on repeat for the last week. There is something really very catchy about it. It always seems to be playing on the radio in the car whenever I get in it. So its wonder Ive had it stuck in my head this month

Toto – We were finishing the kitchen off this month and James had his playlist on and Africa played. Its definitely up there as one of my favourites. I swiftly popped it on my playlist and have listened to it more times in the past month than I have ever heard it.

Trainers – This month has been all about my fitness and I have dig out the trainers and been very good. I hate trainers, they really are not my kind of footwear but needs must. This month has seen me wear them more than I have ever worn them.
Wooly Hats – The wooly hat has been a key staple in my wardrobe this month. Its been so cold and my ears hate this kind of weather! I have made sure I have been fully equipped with the chilly school run mornings.

Chilli – My taste buds have changed so much as I have got older. I was never a spicy food kind of gal when I was a child. This month saw me make a chilli, and eat it! I made it all from scratch and didn’t make it too hot. I have to say I really enjoyed it, so ended up making it again throughout the month! Winter warmer at its best.

Decisions – We made the decision to get Fluer spayed this month. Actually it happened this week and she is recovering nicely. She really doesn’t cope well when she is in season and becomes quite protective of everything. I am hoping she will be back to her normal lily self in a week or so. Its a bit strange her being so quiet and down. She has been loving the extra cuddles and pampering she has received though!

We finally have a fully functioning kitchen! January saw us complete the mammoth task of renovating it. Its been such a long hard slog. We are all enjoying eating together as a family at a proper dining table and I am enjoying having the kitchen of dreams! My favourite part has to be the mini-bar area I created! Its too tempting!

I am looking forward to seeing you all link up in February! Have a wonderful month ahead.

I do love a good book, I quickly added close to home to my books to read whilst reading your post. A big yay to the kitchen being finished I cant wait for the works on our rented property to be finished. They have already overrun by a week, we did think the two weeks they estimated was rather ambitious. I really wanted to watch cleaning up when I saw it being advertised but still haven’t got around to it. I need a day to binge watch some tv, I also want to start watching You on Netflix.

Definitely watch You on Netflix, it was really good. I think I watched it over one weekend. Close to Home is proving to be a good-un. I am really enjoying it.

January has most definitely been the month for television, we too have watched a fair amount of it. All the cold weather and dark nights make for the perfect sofa and snooze opportunities. So glad to see this linky again!

I’ve had a good start to the reading year this year! I do love a good book. January has certainly been the month for hunkering down and staying in the warm. I’m determined to get out and about a bit more in February though. Glad you’ve finally got your kitchen done, house renovations can be really stressful! Looking forward to linking up to Little Loves in 2019 xx

January has just been bitterly cold. So pleased the kitchen is finished, its taken ages to complete! Have a wonderful February x

How brilliant that you’ve started off the year with a finished home project – I hope your kitchen continues to bring you much happiness 🙂 Ditto for being committed to wearing your trainers and your mission to get fitter. I’ve been trying to use January as a time to read more rather than watch TV – so far so good!

Isn’t it lovely to have a kitchen just as you need it to be, it’s definitely the heart of our home. The minibar is such a nice touch too. You’re so right about our tastes changing as we get older, things I never ate when I was younger I live now. I suppose we all need to be open to trying new things.
Thanks for being the new host of #littleloves
