Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and that’s a Little Love round-up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

Its been such a weird week. I’ve not been sleeping too well. I have had a few restless nights which has resulted in me going to bed quite early some evenings. Being honest I really hate it when I have an unsettled sleep as it takes me ages to recover from it! Both G and H are back to full health and returned to school this week. I have been taking it easy, and have been enjoying the brisk cold walks with the pooch!

Without too much waffling, here are the little things I have been loving.

I picked up a book this week. My friend gave me it to read and I have enjoyed it so much I have struggled to put it down. Then She Was Gone is a real page turner. I have really been enjoying reading and I am really looking froward to how it all pans out. Here is a little blurb on what its about..

Ellie Mack was the perfect daughter, at fifteen, she was the youngest of three. She was beloved by her parents, friends, and teachers. Ellie and her boyfriend made a teenaged golden couple. She was days away from an idyllic post-exams summer vacation, with her whole life ahead of her.

And then she was gone.

Now, her mother Laurel Mack is trying to put her life back together. It’s been ten years since her daughter disappeared, seven years since her marriage ended, and only months since the last clue in Ellie’s case was unearthed.

So when she meets an unexpectedly charming man in a café, no one is more surprised than Laurel at how quickly their flirtation develops into something deeper. Before she knows it, she’s meeting Floyd’s daughters—and his youngest, Poppy, takes Laurel’s breath away.

Because looking at Poppy is like looking at Ellie. And now, the unanswered questions she’s tried so hard to put to rest begin to haunt Laurel anew. Where did Ellie go? Did she really run away from home, as the police have long suspected, or was there a more sinister reason for her disappearance? Who is Floyd, really? And why does his daughter remind Laurel so viscerally of her own missing girl?

After my confession last week about Luther, it took me a good while to actually start back up with it. I wasn’t scared, it just freaked me out. The second episode of season two wasn’t much better. I think when children are involved in any kind of murder, thriller programme its a bit too close for home. Sounds silly but my brain works in mysterious ways!

I got an opportunity this week to go into school and Watch G and H in class. I always enjoy these little sessions the school puts on. Its a real eye opener and I learned a thing or too as well! G had a maths lesson and she was so excited I was able to help. My maths is shockingly bad, so bad, some of the lesson went straight over my head! H was English, which was much better for me!

I absolutely love this version of Higher Love. Such a beautiful cover. Ive been having it on repeat quite a lot this week.

I stupidly wore my Sollilas sandals  this week. You know when you look outside and it looks warmer that kit actually is? Yeah I did that. It was actually really mild doing the morning  school run so I felt rather chuffed but come 3.15 my feet were like ice! I am really fed up with wearing boots constantly so wanted a change. I can confirm I took them off and put them to the back of the wardrobe. Roll on Spring!

Mr B and I made a really big decision this week. We have been toying with the idea of getting a new kitchen for a while. Around this time of year, we start putting money into making the garden look nice, but the dog has had her way with it and we both agreed we didn’t want to spend money out on it again at the moment. Thats when we started talking about the kitchen. Its currently usable, and works well but its dated and old. It really isn’t our taste and its the last room to be done. So we walked out of the showroom with plans and a delivery date! I am so excited to be getting the kitchen we want. Its going to look lovely and airy which will be amazing as the kitchen is so dark at the moment.

H had quite a bit of homework this term. He is learning all about pirates so the theme followed onto the homework. H decided he wanted to make a sword and a treasure map. He did so well. Its always hard to get him to sit down and do it but he was really enthusiastic about doing it this term. I forgot to take photos of his work, but I was really impressed! He tried so hard.

Last weekend I went to a charity event. One of my school mum friends has been raising money for Breast Cancer Now. Sadly her best friend passed away from this god awful disease. Last year she ran the London Marathon and this year she out on a wonderful event called The Pink Ball. So much money was raised on the night. its so bloody important to #coppafeel Touch – Look – Check it doesn’t take long. You can do it while your in the bath, watching tv, laying in bed. It’s so important to be boob savvy. I know I check all the time, I’m always bloody checking! The event raised over seven and a half thousands pounds. So proud to be apart of that.

What ever your up too, i hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Ooh that book sounds right up my street, I love those sort of thrillers. I went in both the kids classes for phonics this week, it’s great being able to see what and how they learn isn’t it. Kitchen plans sound exciting ! Have a lovely weekend x #LittleLoves

Its great that schools offer parents to go in isn’t it? I don’t remember my mum coming in when I was younger. I always say I would love to be a fly on the wall for a day in a classroom! Haha

Ooh I can totally agree with you on the whole Luther thing. I remember watching and struggling too for the very same reasons, and it was when they had a horrible baby storyline all those years ago that I gave up on Eastenders too. I just can’t handle it. Though to be honest I’m a bit wet about most things nowadays!

So exciting to have made the decision to get a new kitchen. We re-did ours last year and it’s seriously been the best thing we’ve done. Like yours it was totally usable still but it was old and tired, and it just wasn’t my style. I can’t wait to see what you choose.

I remember the Eastenders Episode, I don’t watch it, but the media around it was huge. Cannot wait to start the renovation in my kitchen! its really exciting.

Glad the kids are back to full health again. Hopefully you get a bit of a rest over the weekend. I know what you mean about how you feel when you’re not sleeping, I never sleep when the Mr is away – I’ve probably had about 12 hours sleep over 5 nights, yet of course he’ll be the one wanting a lay in tomorrow morning as usual no doubt. Can’t believe you actually braved wearing sandals. I see crazy men in shorts all the time for some bizarre reason but sandals! You’re definitely losing it (says the woman who has just moaned about it being winter since July in her little loves post – I’ll get used to the cold eventually!). Have a great weekend you crazy flamingo loving sandals wearer x

Ah, my mum passed Then She Was Gone on to me this weekend. She said it wasn’t like a lot of Lisa Jewell’s other books. Looking forward to reading it!

This is the first Lisa Jewell’s book I have read, I am really enjoying it. I will have to check out her others!

Thank you for introducing me to this version of Higher Love, it’s always been a favourite song of mine and this one is beautiful. I too made a mistake with the weather this week, I did the school run without a coat because it looked so sunny outside, I regretted it the second I got to school and had to hang around for 20 minutes!!

Oh no!! No coat on the school run! I always make sure mine is in the boot of the car. Wont be in a hurry to get the sandals out anytime soon!

That books sounds like something I’d really enjoy – not read anything by Lisa Jewell. Sandals! Blimey, you’re brave! Glad that your little ones are back to full health, always so tough when they’re poorly. Hope you manage to get a good nights rest soon. Enjoy your Sunday xx

I love the sound of that book and will put it on my reading list for this year. One of the reasons why I love Little Loves SO much is finding new things to read and watch. Ooooo a new kitchen, how exciting. Ours is quite dated now and I would love to revamp ours at some point #littleloves x
