BEAST FROM THE EAST, SNOW DAYS, KEEPING WARM

BEAST FROM THE EAST, SNOW DAYS, KEEPING WARM

Its F R I Y A Y which only means one thing and that’s a Little Love round-up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

This week has been a weird week. We started off with a school closure due to no heating. We were expecting to be hit with terrible weather on Tuesday, but we were literally all shocked when the predicted snow fall failed to show! So whilst everyone else had snow days our school was open. Wednesday the Beast From The East hit us and we did finally get that snow day! Thursday they were back at school and ended up finishing early, and as I type this I am unsure as to whether the school will be open tomorrow {today}. It has most definitely been a week of freezing temperatures and bitter winds. I am hoping to stay indoors at the weekend as I really do not want to brace these awful conditions! How has it bee where you are? Have you suffered with the effects form this beast?

Without too much waffling, here are the little things I have been loving.

I am still engrossed in Eleanor Elephant is completely fine. I am really taking my time because I don’t want to rush it. Its such a wonderful book and I am still very much enthralled with the life of Eleanor. I am half way through it and have been reading it before bed to keep up with my daily reading.

Not much this week. I’ve downloaded all episodes of Save Me {SKY ATALNTIC} so I’m really looking forward to watching those. I love Lennie James {Line of Duty and The walking Dead} and obviously Suranne Jones!

I did watch this really bizarre programme called Bring Me Back To Life on 4od. It was a really strange set up, filmed as a diary for when the person woke up. Heres a quick summery,

Cutting Edge documentary telling the story of 22-year-old father Taylor Britton, who broke his neck in a car accident, as he fights for his life in intensive care. Damage to his spinal cord suggests he may be paralysed from the neck down, but no one yet knows the full extent of his injuries. As doctors have decided to put Taylor into a coma so that a machine can support his breathing, this documentary sets out to record Taylor’s medical journey, as well as the love and support of his family and friends as they visit him in hospital.

I felt for the guy and was willing him to wake up, but I was so cross at the end, that someone could be that stupid to put their life in danger like he did. You need to watch it!

Loving this song. Its not often I hear much from the radio anymore, but this has been playing a lot on the school run. I find it a bit bizarre that I have not heard it before, I mean it was released over a year ago! Seriously need to listen to the radio more!! I have found myself singing to for the rest of the day. Its quite a catchy song.

I did to wear the appropriate foot wear in the snow! I didn’t think it was actually as bad so popped on my ankle boots and may of skidded all over the place like bambi on ice. Not the best idea! I did learn though and when I went to pick G and H up I wore wellies! They still didn’t have enough grit though!

G and H wrapped up warm to play in the garden this week too. We literally got ready for school and bundled ourselves in the car, only to receive a message to say the school was closed! So out they went straight away to enjoy the freshly fallen snow!

On our snow day, I decided to make a cake to fill some time. I didn’t get any pictures but it was a simple sponge cake, with strawberries and chocolate filling with chocolate icing. G decorated it with sprinkles. I am yet to have any, but Mr B and both G and H polished quite a helping off!

I also made the trip to minor injuries! Luckily G and H school is opposite a hospital so yesterday I took H as he had a unfortunate incident with a door. I thought he may of broken his finger as it swelled up pretty badly and bruised instantly. Because he did it on Wednesday, and the weather was horrendous I made the decision to strap it up and take him the next day. {I did seek medical advice with this!} Anyway, school finished early yesterday so I quickly nipped over before heading home. It was really quite and we were in and out within 5 minutes! Luckily no broken bones, just very bruised and sore!

We have a busy weekend. Tomorrow I am visiting my mum and her husband and then Sunday we are visiting friends. Mr B is going to start the kitchen whilst we are out. I guessed he would get more done if we were not under his feet!

Whatever your up too, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  • Oh poor H! I hope his finger heals quickly.
Brace yourself for Save Me. I found it just so real, the acting and production is incredible. Definitely one that stays with you.
    Have a lovely weekend! xx

  • I’m saving Eleanor Oliphant for my Easter Holiday read. It’s literally the book of social media right now! We’ve had lots of snow here, which is unusual for us as we are very close to the sea. It’s snowing as I type, so it will be off out to build a snowman and take the little one on the sled soon I think! Enjoy your weekend xx

  • Poor H! Your snow day sounds pretty much like what happened this morning, 1 minute later and we’d have been in the car on the way to school. I’m glad the heating did go now though as it was like a blizzard by this afternoon! I so need to watch Save Me, can’t seem to get it on catch up though for some weird reason – argh! Hope you have a good weekend x
