If you’re anything like me then you’ve been living in some sort of denial about the end of the school year approaching so quickly. This year honestly is going so incredibly fast, but we made it to the end of the school year! Gracie left year four and Henry finishing his time in year two. Thats the bit I am in denial about, It feels weirdly strange, if I am totally honest because, I will no longer have a child in infant school.
Henry has now finished his time in KS1 and after this summer break he will be heading into Junior School and joining his sister in KS2. Luckily our school is infant and juniors combined, so I didn’t need to re-apply, Henry will just go straight to year three within the same school, same friends and familiar faces.
This year has been a whirlwind, and its literally flown by. The older the children get the faster the years seems to merge into one. Both Gracie and Henry exceeded within all aspects of learning and I could not be prouder of them. We have a few targets to meet over the summer to keep up, but I am sure they will both head into years five and three confident and happy. They both love their new teachers which is a huge bonus.
But before all of that, we have an amazing six weeks off. It means, no more school run. Longer lazy mornings. No prepping pack lunches. Forgetting about having to iron the uniform and being able to throw in an odd pyjama day here and there. This will be a huge bonus and one I am going to take advantage of!
We are not actually going away as we have already had our holiday. This is the first year in a very long time that I have a job. I am quite nervous about how the six weeks will actually play out. But I am most definitely looking forward to spending time with the family and making memories.
Schools definitely out for the summer
