Easter 2015

Before having children and nieces and nephews, I am not entirely sure what I did over the Easter weekend. To be honest I can’t quite remember what I did when I was a child. I remember attending church services and having shelves full of eggs that seem to have lasted months, but thats it.

When my niece was born 10 years ago, thats what kicked started the easter celebrations for us as a family. I remember the very first few years that it was just her and we would go round to her house and have a great big dinner and an easter egg hunt for one.. It was so lovely to watch and see the excitement in her face. Then Moo and H came along and with another 3 nephews and nieces added to the family on Mr B’s side, Easter became a big thing..

There have been a few happy years where we have done our own thing and not met up, but the years we have met up have by far been the ones to remember. I love having lots of people around me on special occasions. This weekend was no exception.

I hosted a dinner party on Friday as I wasn’t sure when I would see my sister in law and her family before they hopped on a train to Disneyland Paris {lucky devils!} Last week a group message was sent out and a curry night was suggested for Saturday night, I never turn down a curry! It was with the whole family and it was lovely. I have said many many times before that I love getting together with all of Mr B’s family, its not often we do as there are so many of us and not enough room, it can become a little hectic, but it was perfect, we fed the kids pizza, they had an easter egg hunt in the garden and then we had our curry. It flew by and before we knew it, it was time to go home!

Sunday was the day, the day the Easter bunny arrived, as we got in so late the night before the Easter bunny didn’t actually arrive until 6.30am! I was so tired and didn’t really want to be hiding eggs at 11pm on a Saturday night in the garden! Moo woke so early and I had to dash downstairs and get hiding. What was different this year, is we had our very own garden to hide them in, previous years we have relied on others! It was lovely, rather noisy for the neighbours but Moo and H both loved it and the Easter bunny was rather generous!

Easter haul.. Lucky kiddies…

Its been a busy and full on weekend, luckily Mr B is off work for another two days and we can relax, and not have to rush around.. Both Moo and H still have more to come though {how much chocolate can one receive!?} My mum and her partner will be over on Tuesday for dinner, and I still need to exchange my eggs with my sister and her 2 boys, it really is never ending, but on the plus side I will not have to buy chocolate on the shopping for some weeks to come!
