goals for 2019

Its the last day of 2018 and I find myself planning 2019. Mainly goals and what I want to achieve. I tend to do this every year and more often than not I start off well and then tend to dwindle mid-year and my goals go out the window. This year I have 4 things I really want to achieve. I am setting myself small achievable goals through 2019.

I set this goal every year and without fail I always give up by the end of January. This year is different because by the end of January I will be signing up for a marathon! I need an incentive to get myself out and to get my fitness at a level I am happy with.

When I say Marathon, I won’t be running it! Let just put that out there now. I’ve run before and I don’t enjoy it. I hate it. I am setting myself a goal to walk 27 miles. Through the night, through London. Its all for charity and one so close to my heart. One thats affected me personally and one I can’t wait to give back to.

I am going to blog about my training, my journey and the end result. I am really excited and I have a friend doing it with me. As well as my fitness level, I want to improve my health. I have become pretty bad at eating, and I find myself eating more rubbish as the day goes on. I need to do something I just feel really quite sluggish and unhealthy!

This year I want to photograph more. I want to be able to take my camera out and feel comfortable taking it out and snapping away. Definitely want to be spontaneous, I want to be able to stop the car and take a photo of the sunset or a field of flowers and not feel like a bit of an idiot about it. I want to teach myself how to take a good photo and enjoy photography. Its definitely one thing I am looking forward to this year.

This year and been very hit and miss with my blogging. I don’t tend to blog consistently and I only blog when I feel like it. I’m determined to have a schedule, where I blog on certain days and not sporadic days. I am not entirely sure how that will work but I am going to give it a go.

Now I am working, I find it hard to juggle. I don’t want to overload the blog for the sake of it, but I want to be more consistant. I have a few blog posts I want to continue into next year which will see me blog regularly.

Sunday Favourites {which will be renamed Weekly Favourites}

What I’m Watching {a monthly round-up of what I have watched}

Hello .. {a monthly round-up of the month ahead}

Fitness {a two week/monthly journal of my fitness progress}

Little Loves {a monthly favourites list}

I want to add posts in between these to fit into the blog, days out, family life and homestyle. I’m feeling really positive about the blog this year and I really want to start 2019 on a positive. I need to take full advantage of the schedule option!

Last year I set a goal to read more, and yes I did. I managed to read quite a bit at the beginning of 2018 and I was really enjoying it. Towards the end of the year I slacked on the reading and lost my way a bit. I’ve a nice pile to see me through the first few months of 2019 and I aim to finish those by February.

I find it fascinating that people can read a book in a few days. I just don’t seem to have to the time to sit and read constantly. I’m going to make time though. I am going to remember the book for the school run and take full advantage of the 20 minute wait in the car before pick up.

Family Time

This is the main thing I want to take on this year. I want to make the most of the weekends, go out and enjoy time as a family. I want to put electronics down and enjoy each others company. I’m by no least a saint at putting my phone down, but I am going to try. The generation nowadays rely on technology and its really quite sad to witness. I don’t want my children to rely on it as much as they do. Its shocking how often they are on their tablets and its really down to me as a parent as to why they are like it. I’m determined to change that throughout 2019. I want to make the most of them while they are young

    I could’ve written this. Well except the walking a marathon bit! That sounds all kinds of scary and impressive all at once. Good for you! Have a great New Year x

      Ah thanks lovely! I’m looking forward to the waking if I’m honest, I need to do something! Feel pretty sluggish after all the rubbish I’ve eaten this Christmas!

    I’ve set myself some similar intentions for 2019. I think you’ve set yourself some great goals! I’d love to do even more reading – I think the school run would be the perfect time to immerse yourself. I struggle to fit reading in – due to my job – but I’m hoping I can make it more of a bedtime routine. Wishing you the best with these! Look forward to reading more posts along the way xx
