The Famous Little Brick | The Ordinary Moments 2016

When I was a child, one of my favourite things to do was get the big box of loose lego bricks out and let my imagination run wild. If I was out I would plan in my head what I would build, how I would build it and how it would all be set out. I love the fact that Lego gives you the freedom to build whatever you like.

Fast forward a few a lot of years and Lego is still a huge part of my life. I may be a tad picky about how it should be set up and I always joke about getting the kragle out {Lego super glue} but G and H are just as obsessed with it as I am I was.

Both G and H received a fair amount this year. G loves to sit in her room and delicately play with all her sets, integrating her Popstar Friends with Disney’s Ariel.  H tends to wreck his and I find myself re-building it more times than I can remember, but I guess thats the joy. I find it a bit stressful when the bigger builds gets smashed up but secretly I love building them back to there former glory, its a throwback to my childhood.

At Christmas G asked to help me and Mr B thought I would say no, but I didn’t and  we sat there for a few hours building the stage for her popstars to perform from and it was so nice to teach her the ropes of building Lego. H is nowhere near ready to try it himself so, for now I guess I will still have to take charge!

  • I love that we both wrote about lego! It really is such a lovely toy for all ages and it is one of those toys that I can almost justify buying if that makes sense? As I know it won’t be a five minute wonder and will be well loved. I love that my girls are developing such a passion for it. x

  • I had a big box like that too! It’s still at my Dad’s house waiting for the girls to get a wee bit bigger and then they can get stuck in. Around here right now it’s mostly Lego friends and they love it!

  • I always loved Lego, ours had a few sets over the last couple of years and they just didn’t treasure it at all. They lost parts before it could even be built. I was really disappointed but I’ve learned not to buy them anything like that anymore until they take care of it. They do the same with everything at the moment. They prefer doing other things. I hoping my younger two will enjoy doing it though as they grow and maybe I can live vicariously through them instead haha. Beautiful pics xx
