Last week, we had the most amazing week away from the norm. We packed up and headed for Elvedon Forest. G and H had been on countdown for a whole year and it was finally time to spend some quality time together as a family. It could not have come at a better time and we all needed time to relax and focus on family life.

I have only ever been to Center Parcs once before. Last year in fact, we spent Easter away in the woods and it was a taster of something that could potentially fast become a tradition. Mr B went when he was younger with his family and its always somewhere I have wanted to go. On both occasions I have been we have had the added bonus of spending time with Mr B’s parents, sisters, brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews. 14 of us in total.

We booked up a few activities before we went. We decided as a whole family we would all participate in Laser {which might I add, we won} It must of come as a shock when all 14 of us rocked up, us against them. It was a blast and we all took it very seriously indeed. We also had golf and bowling booked as a group of 14. It was so lovely to spend time as a whole group. Its hard to get us all together in our day-to-day lives so this was defiantly a much needed family holiday to unwind and spend together.

Mr B and I did book up some activities for G and H to do as a family of four. G and H took part in Little Johns Archery and you cannot go to Center Parcs and not use the swimming pool, everyday. We played in the woods and climbed trees {we had the oldest tree outside our villa, which was great for climbing and den building!}

We watched other family members take part in tree climbing activities and taking part in the new Drop adventure. I am already planning to do the aerial adventure if we go back. If my 8 year old nephew can do it, so can I!

One thing I have absolutely loved this week, is seeing G and H bond. G really did take care of her little brother. Taking him down flumes and making sure he was ok in the water. They had there moments where they had the odd argument, but there relationship has blossomed this past week. Its been lovely to witness and it makes me smile that they can get on if they really try!

I managed to squeeze in a cheeky facial at the Aqua Spa. It was so relaxing and something I definitely needed. It was tailored to my history. The lady that carried the facial out took so much care around my scars and was so kind and gentle. She really looked after me. My skin felt super soft after and I felt so relaxed and very sleepy! It also meant Mr B and I managed to have a few hours to ourselves. We had a lovely walk round the forest and a ice cold drink outside at the country club.

The week flashed by before us and I can’t quite believe we are home. I definitely have a bout of holiday blues. I’m feel rather sorry for myself that we have nothing else booked up for the rest of the year. BUT what a week we had. G and H both loved it and have come back with memories they hopefully won’t forget. I know I won’t forget.
