Crochet Class Week 1…

I went to my 1st crochet class this week. I arrived thinking I would leave empty handed but I didn’t. I have to admit I had been practising my crochet skills, so I knew the basics so I was not going in to the unknown, I still felt like a lamb to the slaughter though!

There were 3 other members who I thought maybe would of known how to crochet, but maybe I should not of judged a book by its cover! By the time I sat down the 3 ladies had managed to ask me my life story and made me feel very welcome indeed! and I felt very settled. The 2 hours I was there went very fast and I was surprised how quickly I managed to pick up the technique. Whilst doing crochet we all had a natter and a giggle, and a good moan about the weather! It was the worst day for the class to be on and the lady who was running the class was surprised that all the ladies actually managed to get themselves out to attend the class!

By the time the class finished I had managed to produce a flower! Yes a flower! In 2 colours. I was so chuffed! I didnt have enough time to complete it so I had to finish it when I got home. Now thats where the mistakes happened, I missed of a petal! I had a second attempt and it came out better.

I then tried a different pattern from a another blog theowlandtheaccodian and my first attempt again was rather sloppy, but I persisted and the more I tried the more they came out neater.

I am off to the class again next week and I am hoping to do Granny Squares. I have been practising some other patterns in my book I have at home, so expect some more glorious crochet updates soon!
