Home-made Pizza Baguette…

  • French Baguette
  • Jar of ragu sauce (I actually used Lloyd Grossman’s Tomato and Basil)
  • Tomato Puree
  • Cheese (grated)
  • Red onion
  • Oregano

Any other toppings of your choice! (my husband had the whole shebang, jalapeños, tomatoes, red peppers, onion, cheese….. the lot!)


  • Preheat the oven at 180°
  • Cut the baguette in half and then slice through the centre so you have two halves
  • Mix the ragu sauce with 2/3 teaspoons of tomato puree (this really depends on your sauce, mine was quite wet, so for it not to run of the baguette I needed to “firm” the sauce up a bit)
  • put on the grated cheese and then add your desired toppings
  • Shake on some oregano
  • Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes checking regularly

It only took 15 minutes to cook mine, but mine was rather small and I hardly had any toppings on, so once the 15 minute mark hits I would just keep checking them just incase they look like they are crisping too much!
